Current customer rating:
1973 Triumph TR 6
This Triumph TR 6 is easily the best TR we have driven. A great deal of money spent on restoration alongside carefully considered upgrades to the engine. brakes and suspension has resulted in a car that's tight. rattle free. handles and stops fantastically with tremendous performance.
This TR 6 is an original UK-market car with heritage certificate. During the mid-nineties it was subject to a full body-off rebuild during which the inner and outer wings. front and rear. along with the sills. bonnet. boot and door skins were replaced. We have all the receipts for the work (totalling £13. 00). photographs and an engineers report.
Subsequently. a further £12. 00 was spent around 2001. including £5000 on a high-performance engine built by Cambridge Motorsport. The engine. based on a ‘CP' unit. features a lightened and balanced flywheel. vernier timing gear. fast-road cam. stage three head and roller rockers. It's estimated that the engine is producing around 180 bhp. but it does so with a smooth idle and a fantastically broad spread of torque.
Further work carried out included rebuilding the injection system (including fitting braided fuel lines). rebuilding the suspension. including a telescopic damper conversion. and rebuilt brakes with Alfin rear drums.
The interior has been replaced with black leather reclining seats. burr walnut dashboard and a Moto Lita steering wheel. The hood is also new. mohair and a superb fit.
The body and chassis are in excellent condition with no corrosion and good door fit. The original steel wheels have been refurbished and wear new. matching tyres.
The gearbox has a perfect change and the overdrive engages and disengages quickly.
We have a superb history file with the car. All the restoration work and upgrades over the last two decades are detailed in bills. receipts and photographs.
In summary. this TR 6 is in lovely condition having had thousands spent on it. and to drive it's as good as it gets with plenty of rorty performance!
