Incredible original 1972 BMW 2002. located in San Diego County. 40 minutes from Los Angles. CA. Family owned vehicle since 1972. title shows 133. 14 actual miles. backed up by family history and DMV.   Technically I am the third owner the car was owned by a Great Uncle from 1972 to 2009 when he passed away.   His Nephew inherited it and parked it for 2 years before the car was given to me.   The car was originally purchased at the world famous Vasek Polak Hermosa Beach California in 1971 the plate frames currently on the car are original from this dealer where it was purchased.    We still use the car as a weekend driver and recently drove it from San Diego to Monterey for BMW CCA's Oktoberfest the vehicle ran  there and back flawlessly and got about 29 MPG round trip.  At the Oktoberfest Concord car show this 2002 won a trophy for Most Original 2002 Roundie.   The “Harmon Fisher Award”.

Body:  The factory color Colorado Orange. 70 percent of the body is the original paint.   It had been in an accident in the early 80's so the right front fender. nose. and hood have been repainted.   Also the right rear quarter panel was repainted at some point but I was unable to find out when it was repaired.   The doors. boot. roof. door jams and all other parts are the original paint as far as I know.   The title is NOT A SALVAGE title.   The body has some dings chips and other issues expected with 130k miles. I have the original service book with owner and service information. original keys. maintenance guide. and owner's manual.

Engine: Has only 10. 00 miles on a fresh rebuild it is a matching numbers engine runs with absolutely no smoke at start-up I had the engine rebuild to factory specs with all factory parts at a local BMW specialized shop. 9k invested.   All parts are original to the motor but the . 030 pistons.   All smog equipment still installed with original Solex single barrel carburetor.   Pull the choke. two pumps on the accelerator. and it starts right up. Four speed works effortlessly. the clutch and clutch hydraulics were replaced with the motor build.

Boot: This car sports a perfect. rust-free. original boot area. Comes complete with tool and jack.

Exterior Anodizing: Near new condition on front grills and belt molding.

Chrome: Front and rear bumper and accessory optional bumperettes - super nice with very minor pitting on front and rear center bumpers does show some rust on the bottom side.

Wheels: Repainted dull aluminum the hubcaps are all original. with normal wear and tear dents. Early cheese cutter-style trim rings are nice with some flat spots from possible improper use of tools.

Glass: all glass on car is near perfect condition. windshield is original factory with the factory sticker still installed wing windows open and close effortlessly.

Undercarriage: Absolutely rust free. a little dirty and oily for past oil leaks and normal driving but otherwise great condition.

Keys: Original to the car. except for the gas cap key it the cap was damaged so a BMW keyed cap was installed two hinged ignition keys. one boot key. Numbers on keys match serial numbers on locks and booklets.

Interior: Great condition original black deluxe bucket seats; with headrests the upholstery has never been replaced or repaired but seat foam had been added when the horse hair fell though the springs. When I received the car the interior was extremely dirty so I removed everything for a good cleaning and re-installed.   Original carpet warn through at the drivers pedal so I stalled factory floor mats with no hint of rust under carpet. panels. or seats. Door panels are amazing. headliner and sun visors are in nice condition. sunroof works effortlessly.   Everything. including all accessories – AM/FM Motorola stereo works on this car! The speakers and speak wires had to be replaced but I used the dealer installed routing and speaking covers when installing.   Padded dash is cracked in one place but warp free. No damage to the center console at all.

Clear CA title.   Note: License plate is a white CA I have the Blue CA's but the car left the state for 2 years and they would not allow me to use the blue plates again.
