Saab Monte Carlo 850 model 96 1966 V4 Magnificent Condition for sale

You are bidding on a very rare Saab.  A Monte Carlo 850 with a V4 engine. Note that this is a MC conversion.  The car originally had a 2 stroke. tri carb engine.  I have a source for an original MC engine which source will be provided to the buyer.  Saab did convert their Monte Carlo's to a V4 on November 1. 1966.  Previous owner wanted the additional performance and response that the V4 provides. This MC was restored and repainted 10 years ago.  Other than three small 1/8 inch bubbles on a fender. it is rust free and the professional paint job still looks magnificent. I have included pictures  of the undercarriage which is rust free and has all the original floor panels.  There are a couple (unable to capture by camera) of very small road chips on the front that can easily be fixed.  The vinyl interior is red/white and was recovered just a few years ago.  No rips. no tears. no stains. Note that the original MC interior was changed to the current interior.  I have a source for an original MC interior which would have to be recovered and I will provide the name of the seller to the buyer of this Saab. The headliner was replaced at the same time as the interior.  All the instruments work and there are no cracks( an expensive piece to replace) in the top of the dash.  An aftermarket radio has been installed and I do not have the original radio.  All the glass is in excellent condition as is the new carpeting in the front and rear.  The interior has no issues.  The Saab Monte Carlo is the new Porsche 356 without the high price. The exterior chrome is either new or still in excellent original condition.  There are two man-made indentations in the front bumper over-riders allowing the hood to properly open.  This was done because of the Carello (yes they work) driving lights attached to the bumper.  The tires are not brand new. but have 90+% tread left.  The jack points and all seams are rust free. Nothing covered over with gobs of undercoating. Most Saabs of this vintage have rusted body seams and the jack points are non-existant. All Monte Carlo's. including this car. have heavy duty 4 lug wheels which are much stronger than other 5 lug non Monte Carlo editions.  The exhaust system is not new and it has no leaks or holes in the pipe or the muffler.  It does have that great Saab Monte Carlo V4 sound. I have just installed (purchased from Mark Ashcraft) a new clutch. clutch release arm. throw out bearing and pressure plate. Engages well and has smooth shifting.  There is still a need in the future to rebuild the shifting rod which exits out of the firewall.  This is not a significant expense and I would do it now. however. a recent back and spine operation prevents me from bending over the front fender.  Parts are readily available and the repair can be accomplished by any reasonably competent mechanic.  All engine hoses are in excellent condition.  A new radiator keeps the engine running nice and cool.  Engine starts and idles very smoothly. Just changed the plugs. oil and filter. Connecticut is a non-title state for vehicles over 25 years of age.  You will receive a notarized bill of sale from me.  Upon inspection of the vin. many states will reissue a tile for the new owner. My price reflects the rarity of a Saab Monte Carlo.  If you read Keith Martin's Sports Car Market Guide you will see that a 1965-67 Saab Monte Carlo has a value range of $17. 00 to $26. 00(page 53).  This car is neither a rust buck with issues or a concours condition Saab. but I believe my price reflects the fact that it is an engine conversion and another interior will be required to bring it up to original Monte Carlo specs.  If the price of a 2 stroke engine and new interior are added to my price. this Saab is still a bargain.  Find another one in this condition. This is a beautiful Saab and one that will surely continue to appreciate. Buy it and you will never see another at a car show. unless it is a national Saab event. and you will be the envy of everyone. If you make an offer and I accept it. PLEASE have the funds immediately available.  Previous offer disappeared because they had to sell their car. Quirky?  Yes.  Unusual?  Yes.  Fun?  Yes. Able to keep up with hiway traffic?  Yes.  Should you own it? YESWhat are you waiting for. Buy it Now
