Built by the ALLAN TAYLOR ENGINEERING and MANUFACTURING COMPANY in 1936 from their factory in Wandsworth. London. This vehicle is one of a very very few still remaining around the world BUT none are to this amazing standard.
Allan Taylor Engineering converted Ford Model Ys in the 1930 s and 1940 s into vehicles designed to be used for race courses. sporting venues. golf courses. aerodromes. and large public parks. The company specialised in the conversion of Ford cars of the type A and B and Y chassis to tractor type vehicles for towing or carrying. Most of these tractors could also pull gang mowers and mow the grass at a claimed 4. 5 acres in 1 hour. The target market was that involved in grounds maintenance. with golf courses making up the majority of its customers including overseas courses in New Zealand. South Africa and Malaya!!!!!!In 1936. Allan Taylor introduced smaller models. referred to as the CORONATION MODELS. These were based on the 8 hp Ford Model Y chassis and fitted with an oak tipper box body with a swing rear tail board.
She starts on the button first time every time. Drives without fault. 3 forward gears and 1 reverse. Runs on unleaded. Tipper trailer is very easy to work. THE WHOLE VEHICLE IS SUPERB. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER.
