1959 VW Kombi van for sale
This 12 th month 1959 Kombi started its life as a factory RHD Wakefield Castrol service van in South Australia making for a very solid and sympathetic restoration project taking approx. 2. 5 years to bring it back to a very usable and practical classic that is appreciating all around the world.
The paint work has been done to keep its original style and has kept as much original paint and patina as possible. this being a late 59 Kombi it's one of the last Semaphore van's to be made… All the running gear is original including the 1200 motor that's been rebuilt and tweaked a little and is now a warm 1200. the gear box has just been rebuilt with reverse cut gears and highway final drive and loves doing 110 k's on the highway unlike most VW's. The original front beam has been reconditioned with reversed spindles. rebuilt rear suspension including reduction gear bubs and lowered on adjustable spring plates… Other things to not are Safari windows front and rear. comic themed interior. rock and roll rear seat that converts to a queen size bed and it's also been updated with a 12 volt conversion throughout. These vans are ridiculously popular. it took over 50 years for the elements to make this van and a bunch of blood sweat and tears to finish it to make what you see now. $59. 00 will put it in your garage.
