VANDEN PLAS 1500 ALLEGRO - RARE 5 SPEED - SUPERB LOW MILEAGE UNRESTORED EXAMPLE

Here we have for sale my stunning Vanden Plas 1500 with 5-speed manual gearbox. in iconic Russet Brown. The car runs and drives as new and is in lovely condition. having covered only 52. 50 miles.

This is a charming quality practical classic car ready to be enjoyed and won't break the bank.

The Vanden Plas 1500 was the top-of-the-range Allegro. with a bespoke walnut & leather interior that was assembled by hand at the Vanden Plas Kingsbury Works. near Harrow in North-West London. It features a unique bonnet and chrome front grille. along with chrome Vanden Plas-branded hub caps and badging to the front and rear. also unique to the model. The interior featured Wilton carpets with upgraded sound insulation. earning the car the title “the miniature Jaguar”.

The whole interior has been completely renovated to as-new condition. so the seats. carpets and headlining are all perfect. It feels like a bespoke hand-crafted car inside. which is effectively what it is. The exterior is all unrestored and is in great condition despite being nearly 40 years old - it has no rust and only displays some slight "patina" as you'd expect of a car of this age but nothing at all I would change and personally appreciate seeing it as is rather than wondering what was . It's always been kept in a garage and was previously owned by an Allegro Club International club member who used it for shows. I have some photos of the car at car shows over the years. It has ALL of its original factory-fitted panels and vast majority factory paint and has been comprehensively rust-proofed and undersealed underneath. along with the front panel. which remains rock solid. It has never been in an accident. It still retains its original number plates front and rear.

Next Mo T is due on 1 st April 2017 and there were three advisories at this year's test. which have now all been fixed. They were Nearside Front suspension has slight play in a lower suspension ball joint. (2. 5. B. 1 a)

As the advisories have all been rectified and seeing the car has only covered 680 miles since the last test. I envisage no advisories at the next Mo T at all.

The car comes with stacks of service history and I've just had a full service of the car done by a Rover specialist based in Horsham. They have changed the oil with the correct specification 20/50 oil. changed the oil and fuel filters with the correct Unipart parts. changed the antifreeze with the correct 50% mixture and changed the brake fluid for safety's sake and to keep all components in tip-top order. They also changed the wheel bearing and suspension components. along with new spark plugs and ignition leads.

Consequently. the car runs and drives like a brand new VDP 1500. making it a truly rare find. It is in top-notch order throughout.

Any interested parties may view the car and take it on an extended test drive - the car has nothing to hide unlike most British Leyland cars of the '70 s. Best of all. it will be tax exempt in 2017!
