Rare Delage in very well preserved condition - 1939
I am reducing my collection. I am now prepared to part with my rare Delage DI-12 "Pillarless" Saloon. by Carrosserie Autobineau.
In the same family since new until 2010. The car is absolutely complete and original. Sound and straight. without structural rust and no welding is needed. The car is in well preserved condition. unmolested and well maintened. A real time warp.
Mechanically it is in excellent condition. Everything works as it should. but the fuel tank needs a cleaning (I am driving it with a small tank in the engine bay).
The engine starts always on the button. both with engine cold and hot.
Gearbox and clutch are precise and smooth. The steering is fine.
Electrics work properly. including lights and horn.
Interior trim and wood trim are very well kept. they don't need any refurbishment as they give to the car a wonderful patina. Door cards and headlining are excellent. The steering wheel need to be re-lacquered.
The body is sound but it needs a repaint. as at time the paint quality was not great. Bright works need a re-chrome. Glasses are perfect.
A rare example of one of the legendary luxury French marques of the pre-war era. in incredible original condition. still at an affordable price.
