SUPERB 1962 BEDFORD "J " SERIES 1. 5 Tonne DROPSIDE TRUCK FULLY RESTORED CHASSIS UP IN SHOW CONDITION

80 k MILES FROM NEW. FITTED BEDFORD TK 3. 5 Ltre DIESEL ENGINE. MOT SEPT 2014. HISTORIC TAX JULY 2014.

This must be one of the best examples of a "J" Series which has had a chassis up restoration around 6 years ago and has been fully rebuilt with new wooden dropside body (see photos) . reconditioned Bedford TK "220" cubic inch (3500 cc) diesel engine and finally painted in classic red/bronze colour scheme. This work was completed 5 years ago in Burton-on-Trent and has been kept in storage until recently recommissioned for the road. She has been in dry storage since Xmas. and started first time this week. without even charging the battery!! The vehicle can immediately be driven anywhere and is totally reliable Recent work includes New MOT in September (a few small jobs were done) and fitting of fuel cut off/anti theft switch (only the buyer will know where this is)The pictures do not do her justice- the quality of the restoration is superb and I can send you more by email if you require(pls send me email address). I have concentarted on the engine compartment so you can see how clean and tidy the 220 cubic inch/3500 cc "TK" engine is (no oil leaks by the way) and also the relatively luxurious interior of the 3 seater cab. (which is better than many cars of this age). The headlining is new and seats are in very god condition. The replacement wooden dropside body has had many coats of yacht varnish and is in "as new" condition (see photos as best you can). She had been in storage for many yesr prior to the rebuild and the mileage is belived to be genuine 80. 00 since new. The "220" engine was fully reconditioned before fitting and is obviously newer than the truck itself. Extras include Chrome wheel caps. flashing indicators (wing mounted). sun visors. spotlamps. badge bar etc. There is also a sturdy specially made wooden ladder rack to fit behind the cab. She has all good tyres on the road wheels. but the spare wheel has the rim only. with no tyre (but one can be easily sourced if required). This is a superb truck and potential buyers are urged to inspect it to fully appreciate it. There is a genuine reason for sale (home building project starting soon) and I would like her to go to a good home where she will be taken to shows etc etc.

PS - I FORGOT TO MENTION THE BEDFORD HAD A REPLACEMENT WATER PUMP & HOSES ETC FITTED IN OCTOBER AS THE OLD ONE STARTED TO LEAK. PUMP WAS QUITE EXPENSIVE AS IS ORIGINAL BEDFORD.
