1926 Delage DI sports special.

A beautiful Delage special based upon a 1926 Delage DI engine & chassis & using a bulkhead from a DR 70 car.

The car is clothed in a rakish in the extreme four seat touring body. The body clearly has some age to it. but we do not know when or where it cas constructed. A Letourneur & Marchand builders plate is located on the bulkhead. but we suspect this came from the donor car. It has twin slightly better then aero screens reminiscent of a Vauxhall Wensum. To the rear the body tapers off in a slight boat tail design with the de rigeur Teak wood decking.

Finished in a snappy shade of mid blue the car attracts the right kind of attention wherever it goes. It sits on four wire wheels & carries a 5 th on the drivers side running board. The dash is or aluminium & has an assortment of period gauges mounted upon it. The seats are of blue leather & very comfortable to sit in. br/>
The engine is a four cylinder DI unit of some 2. 2 litres that starts readily & pulls well in all gears. the lightness of the body contributing to good forwards progress. Lacking weather gear. this is most certainly a car suited to warmer climes & summer motoring. The engine is fed by a Swiss made Elevateur Thecla autovac system & runs off a magneto. To the front are a rather lovely pair of period Marechal headlamps.
