Pontiac dropped its large displacement engines which brought the introduction of the turbocharged 301 CID V 8. The output of the turbocharged 301 varied but was generally cited as being 210 horsepower at 4000 rpm. down 10 horsepower from the mighty T/A 6. 6 engine from the '79 model year. Bolting on the turbocharger bumped the torque up to 345 ft. /lbs. a 25 ft/lb. increase over the T/A 6. 6 L engine. This 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Turbo for sale is powered by its original 4. 9 L 301 CID Turbo V 8 engine. backed by a 3-speed TH 350 automatic transmission. and running to a limited slip rear end.
