1983 Zimmer Golden Spirit No Reserve

 The original Zimmer's were produced in Florida by the Zimmer Motor Company. This 1983 model is production number 540 and was produced in June 1983. The donor car for the 2 door models were new Ford Mustang GT 5. 0's and Lincoln Town Cars for the 4 door models. They were produced from 1980 to 1988 and they averaged producing 176 cars per year. The parent company went bankrupt in 1988 and ceased production. In 1997 Art Zimmer (no relation to the original Paul Zimmer who started the Zimmer Manufacturing Company) started the Zimmer Neo-Classic Motor Car Company. The first new 1998 Zimmer Golden Spirit rolled off the assembly line in November 1998.

Some of the features of this car are a 5. 0 4V HO engine with automatic transmission. power leather Recaro seats. gold spoke signature edition Nardi wood wheel. teak wood on the running boards. glass wind deflectors. wood dash & on the consol. side supercharger pipes. chrome wire wheels. side cowl lamps. twin fog lights. 4 trumpet horns. solid bronze-gold plated eagle hood ornament. twin light up vanity mirrors in visors am/fm/stereo w/cd player. opera windows. & side landau bars. opera lights. front badge bar. tinted windows. pinstripes. power windows. locks. brakes. steering & antenna. air conditioning. cruise control. 4 seats. 18 feet long with 142" wheelbase. 3700 pounds. premium plush carpets. even in the trunk area.

This car is in good condition. but not a show cae.   The paint has some crazing and looks good from 20 feet.   There is also some surface rust on the wheel spokes.   The cruise control does not work (I have not had it checked out as I do not take long trips in it). nbsp; The instument panel voltage regulator needs to be adjusted or replaced and causes the fuel. oil pressure and temp gauges to register low.   The drivers seat has a small rip in it as can be seen in the picture. also the custom cover has a tear in the front as can be seen in the picture.   The air conditioner has been converted to R134a. and the headliner and trunk cover have been replaced.   The car is not driven much but I would not hesitate to take it on a long trip. The car is registerd as a mustang as the vin is from the doner car.
