I've decided to put my mk 1 up for sale as I'm wanting a vw t 2 camper van. so may do a deal if you have one. It's a 1300 L with only 8 former keepers Recent re-spray in focus Rs green and orange so has a pearl tint in it which looks great in the sunlight. Very solid shell with no rust or rot. Has the reg etched onto all the glass Painted green underneath. M. O. T till March 2017 and tax exempt. Alfa Romeo 2. 0 twin cam engine with new internals including Pistons. bearings. timing chain. oil pump. fast road cams. twin 40 Webber carbs. which sounds lovely. Recent service with oil. filter and h. t leads in May. 5 speed box with custom gear linkage Capri bilstein struts converted to coilovers Will wood 4 pot calipers with 2. 8 discs Roller top mounts Mexico pedal box Remote servo Adjustable Tca's Gaz adjustable rear shocks Strengthened English axle with panard rod Decambered single leaf springs with 2" lowering blocks Anti tramp bars 9" drums Custom alloy fuel tank with twin filler necks either side of the car Twin fuel pumps. main and reserve Battery and spare wheel in the boot which has a remote release Steel rear arches and fibreglass front wings 13 x 8 alloys up front and 13 x 9 rears Fiesta Rs turbo seats Speakers and subs in rear cards but I never use the stereo as I prefer listening to the engine!Springalex steering wheel Custom centre console
As you can see it is a pretty well specced car and gets a lot of attention and positive comments. but could do with an lsd in my opinion to get the most out of it as let's face it. people want to go sideways in these.
Only issues are it has a slight oil leak from the sump. top mounts are a bit squeaky. thrush bearing is noisy and the speedo over reads. All of which are nothing major and I was planning on fixing over the winter months.
I'm not desperate to sell. just fancy a nice vw t 2 camper van.
