1956 MG MAGNETTE ZA 70,000 MILES for sale
Current customer rating:
Mot exempt Classic MG MAGNETTE ZA 1956. This car is not for the purist and would never win a Concourse competition because of the number of upgrades made in the interests of safety and daily use in modern traffic. It is however ideal for anyone who wants to actually enjoy driving a superb classic car every day of the year. It does of course now benefit administratively from Mot exemption although its Mot is still valid. Re-finished in Ivory over British Racing Green. (never an official ZA colour scheme. but perhaps it should have been !) all rust has been cut out and replaced with fresh metal. The interior is nicely patinad and has new carpeting. Seat belts and indicators are fitted (in addition to the original trafficators ) and the MGB 3. 9 diff with overdrive and SU HIF carbs makes the car comfortable at 70 mph with only 3000 revs showing. giving much improved economy and noise reduction over the original spec. In 2012 five new tyres were fitted. and the brakes overhauled including a new combined brake/clutch master-cylinder. (a servo comes with the car. but the current owner prefers the brakes as they are). The car has a new radiator. propshaft and gearbox mounts and the electrics have been converted to 12 volt negative earth alternator supply for reliability throughout the winter.
Originally it was intended to register the car in France where the UK registration number would automatically be lost. so the plate was put on retention and used to help pay for the extensive welding work needed. Regrettably. plans have had to be changed and the car is now offered for sale with no reserve. (In time for the MG Live celebrations later this summer perhaps?) Viewing is welcome by arrangement. The original registration number. 377 HMV. is confirmed to be still available for a relatively modest sum and contact details can be provided.
PLEASE NOTE THIS VEHICLE IS FOR SALE ON BEHALF OF CUSTOMER

Comments and questions to the seller:
from Roger England, dated 19 february 2020This really is a longshot as I have just bought 148 YUM and would be interested to hear of the engine mods carried out as I believe it has been rebored to 1600cc. Can you help please?

Roger England
