1973 Miller Meteor Cadillac Ambulance

This is a very rare 1973 Miller Meteor Cadillac Ambulance.   This is a real head-turner in parades and on the road.   We purchased this vehicle from a previous funeral director who had retired in 2008 and we win many parades each year when entering.   This vehicle has an awesome history.   It was in Kit Carson County Colorado from 1973 to 1981 and then it went to Hollywood and was in two Movies.   Phantom of the Opera with Morgan Fairchild and Jack and the Bear with Danny DiVito.   It was purchased away from the movie company and then partially restored.   We acquired the vehicle in 2008 and have essentially restored it even further.   Overall the vehicle runs very well.   Glides along at 80mph on the interstate.   It is a heavy car and weighs over 8200 lbs and is almost 24 feet long.   My project  car/mechanic unexpectantly passed away last fall and we had a few things left to complete.  

Here is what I have done to it:  New Carpet front. new dash. new emergency console. new AM/FM Harrison Radio added from OPG in CA. Added Motorola Motrac 70 Fire/EMS Radio and several emergency lights which all work and rotate.   There are essentially two priceless Miller-Meteor Beacons that work perfectly.   (I have tried finding parts or replacements for 5 years now just in case but they are extremely rare).  It has a Federal Electronic Siren.

If we were going to keep it. here what I think it needs:  1) Some form of shoreline/Charging system as it has to be "jumped" after running it/  (it has a two battery system).   2) New transmission seals (has a small leak after sitting). 3) New rear chrome bumper (see pix of hole on right side) and a re-chrome of endcaps. 4) It could use two new front door panels.   5) It does have rust on the lower body along each side that will need addressed at some point.   6) It does have front and rear AC but system needs charged and trouble shot.   7) The two post lights don't presently work however we were going to fix those when we pulled the existing door panels for replacement.   8) Gas guage needs addressed. may need a new sending unit?  This unit has been in a heated gargage year round.  

It is complete with all time period EMS equipment.   ALL EQUIPMENT IS NOT FOR SALE IN THIS LISTING.   NO equipment will come with purchase but I have a Thumper CPR Machine. Life Pak 5 monitor/Defib (works fine) and Motorola Apcor Radio. EMS Kits and Drug boxes etc. which we can negotitate a price if interested if you buy the vehicle.

This will be local pick-up only and I will not ship.    I drove it over 1000 miles to bring it home and it did fine.   The gas guage does not work so keep that in mind and if you are putting it on a roll-back. it is very long (almost 24 feet) and careful attention will need to be given to make sure you don't damage the tail fins when putting it on.   Feel free to email me choprrn@aol. com for additional pictures or to ask questions.   Serious bidders only.
