1978 DENNIS Series D Fire Engine

Here we have a very rare 1978 Dennis Series D Water Tender. This is a narrow bodied appliance of which only circa 18 were made and only a couple. are believed. to still remain on the UK roads. Built in 1978 by PCC Motor Bodies in Newton Abbott and commissioned for Devon Fire Brigade by their own workshops in the same year.

All Devon Dennis D series were de-commissioned in 1995 and 14 of the batch were donated to Romania as an aid package. 2 were broken for spares and 2 remained in the UK. New to Devon Fire Brigade in 1978 was a Multip Dennis D/Dennis with the registation number XTT 310 S. This appliance was allocated to Mortonhampstead. The appliance went out of service in 1992 having spent all its working life at that station and then went into presevation. and the call sign was 271.

Covering only 28000 throught its life. this appliance comes with all its original components. including cutting equipment. hoses. breathing equipment. tool kits. ladders. pumps. first aid equipment etc etc.

A very opportunity to purchase a classic engine at a realistic price. This would make an ideal show vehicle or for hiring out to weddings. proms. TV work etc.
