1969 Dennis F 44 Rolls Royce
In 1969 The New South wales Fire Brigades under took a major fleet replacement program with the order of 84 new Dennis Fire Engines.
The order being 72 D 600 jaguar powered appliances and 12 of the bigger F 44/F 49 Rolls Royce powered appliances.
This Dennis is the first of the 6 Dennis F 44 Rolls Royce to go into service in 1969.
Only 27 F 44 Dennis's were ever made world wide. making this very rare. Of the six that were brought to Australia only four have survived. One is at the Fire Museum at Penrith and the other two are in private hands.
Served at Headquarters(Sydney)
Broken Hill
Newcastle
Gosford
taken out of service in 1986
The truck is currently on Historic NSW plates (Non/Trans)
Mechanically sound Engine and gearbox. rakes need adjusting as it pulls to the left.
The bodywork is good. o rust. The bodywork is made from fiberglass. ood and Aluminium. There is a small amount of wood rot in one of the pockets. but not too bad.
The truck comes fully stowed with firefighting equipment(display only)which is worth lots of $$$$
