This is our little Morris Minor. hich we have owned since March 2003. The car has an interesting history. t was originally registered as "Disabled". ack in the days when such cars were Government registered. nd was disposed of at the Surplus sales in 1978 at Ruddington. The sales invoice is with the car's history file. Before we bought the car it had been extensively rebuilt by the previous owner for his wife. This included several new panels. complete rewire. ew headlining. econ gearbox. econ engine (1275 cc) and disc brakes. lso a full respray. Unfortunately. n completing all this work his wife didn't like the car! We then bought it and have enjoyed it ever since. We have only covered a very small annual mileage. n fact over the last two or three years it has only been a few hundred miles. We upgraded the disc brakes to servo to lessen the pedal pressure required. enewed the rear springs and shockers. itted inertia reel seat belts and door mirrors and this year had new front calipers fitted. Lack of use is not kind to brakes!We also fitted a Midget diff. s the 1275 engine was quite capable of pulling a higher gear. Unfortunately this a little noisy. ut the original diff. hich was perfect. s with the car. There is also a spare used but recon gearbox. ome spare shockers and other bits and pieces. Unbelievably. e still have the original plastic covering for the rear seats! There is a small tear in the back of the drivers seat and I recently caught the left hand door bottom on the garage door. s you can see in the photos. Both trivial. There is a small amount of micro blistering on the bonnet and the doors. ut this is not rust and is easily cured. All in all this is a lovely little car. ut with several small grandchildren. ll of whom love the car. e are looking for something similar but with 4 doors. The car is taxed and tested until the end of March next year and there is a thick history file. 40 plus mpg. ree tax. ow insurance (we pay £85 pa fully comp) and mend it with two spanners and a screwdriver. Plus no depreciation!
