1953 Daimler Empress II Priced To Sell Fast!!!

In its heyday. Daimler. along with other marques like Lanchester. and the familiar Rolls Royce. represented the height of the coach built luxury car experience in England. Even to this day the British Royal Family still uses Daimler cars for some of its transport needs. Daimlers have been used by the Royal Family since the rule of Edward VII.

This particular example being offered for sale is one of great pedigree. It was shown at the 1999 Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance. one of the most prestigious car exhibitions in the world. This car is that clean. There are owner repair records. correspondence with the Daimler and Lanchester Club of North America. and even official blueprints and service manuals included with this car. Having been under the ownership of the same individual since sometime in the early 1960 s. this is likely the most pristine and well-documented Daimler Empress II known to exist.

The bodywork on this car was done by Hooper & Co. based out of London. England. Hooper & Co. built horse drawn carriages. and eventually. automobiles. beginning in 1805. Their first car for the Royal Family was built in 1900.

According to records found with the car. this particular 1953 Daimler Empress II is powered by a 3 litre engine that produces 100 horsepower. and is mated to an overdrive gearbox.

The interior is just as bespoke as the wonderful two-tone exterior of this car. With power windows. generous seating for five. rear folding tray tables for passengers. a body built from aluminum and English ash wood. laminated glass. and more. this car represents the very best that money could buy in 1953. An independent front suspension makes this Daimler less cumbersome to drive. and more comfortable to ride in. than many of its contemporary coach built luxury counterparts.

The trunk is cavernous. with more than enough space for the luggage and belongings of the five adults the car can seat. Also found in the trunk is the original and complete tool kit. Words are barely adequate to describe the detail and craftsmanship associated with this vehicle. The solid sound made when the doors are closed reeks of bank vault security. The smooth powerplant and wide whitewall tires recall a bygone era of luxury and lavishness just not found on the cars of today.

Taxes and Registration fees: Out of state buyers are responsible for all state. county. city taxes and fees. as well as title service fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. Title Information: Vehicles titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments up to 21 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. The amount of time it takes for delivery is dependent on the carrier. but is generally 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the shipper for an Estimate Time of Arrival to be sure.

Finalizing your Purchase:

Blue Marlin Motors will contact the successful high bidder by e-mail or phone after the auction closes.
