Not Your Average TR 6
1976 TR 6 - This TR 6 has been thoroughly and sensitively restored to a good standard using the best parts and prepared to take part in hillclimbing and sprinting. However. nothing has been done to the car which would stop it being easily and accurately returned to standard with the addition of new bumpers and standard seats.
The removal of the front bumpers has necessitated the relocation of the indicators and side lights using the existing bodywork holes and despite being modern units they complement the lines of the car beautifully. Period Wi Pac spotlights finish the distinctive look of the front of the car.
The mechanicals have been thoroughly replaced and upgraded and the most significant of these is detailed in the overview below.
A terrific looking car with a wonderful engine and exhaust note.
Bodywork
Full bare metal respray in 2 pack Audi Brilliant Red. It is not a factory colour but is definitely one of the best 'reds' you will ever see on a sports car.
The car was imported from the dry state of Arizona and was exceptionally rust free when I got the car. The only major area of rust was under the battery tray and the rear floor behind the drivers seat. This was cut out. replaced and the entire area repainted with galvanising paint and stone chip.
The bodywork was taken back to bare metal and the front and rear wings removed to identify any work needing doing under the skin. The inner wings and pillars were perfect requiring only the old underseal to be removed and cleaned and repainted before having the wings replaced.

Things I'd Change If I was Keeping The Car
The hood has spent much of it's life down and is now very tight and difficult to fit. The frame is good but If I were keeping the car I'd spend £200 and have the hood replaced or leave it in the hot sun for an hour and stretch the hood out.
The seats are very upright. Perfect for a quick hillclimb but I wouldnt want to tour Europe in it with those seats. I'd probably fit some MX 5 or reclining Sparco seats.
Not a neccesity. but new Minilites would really set off the whole look of the car.
A terrific car in a great colour.
Deposit of £250 via Pay Pal please within 24 hour of winning bid. Cleared funds in my bank or cash in hand before the vehicle can be taken away.
Serious bidders only please. I strongly recommend viewing the car before purchase or contact me via ebay for a discussion.
