Beach Buggy 1971 1600cc VW tax exmpted full MOT

A rare opportunity to own a seventies classic. Anyone that knows about beach buggies will know this Fibre Fab kit was one of the best on the market the styling leaves the rest of the beach buggy manufactures in the shadows.

I purchase this as a unfinished project way back in Nov 2004 basically a chassis a painted body shall and a box of bits. My ambition was to have it on the road ready for the summer of 2005. The first problem was I had no registration document only a Q number plate in the box of bits. After a lot of dealings with the dvla and two inspections they agreed to put the original 1972 registration back on this also makes it tax exempted I have all the correspondence form the dvla vehicle inspector to support this. So this is correctly registered as a beach buggy kit unlike many other buggies on the road.   

Because the vehicle had been dry stored the chassis and floor pans are totally original it has only ever had one small welding repair about 20mm x 30mm to one of the rear floor pans not bad for a 43year old vehicle.

During the rebuild I replaced many parts including wheel bearings. shocks. brakes. brake pipes. nbsp;steering parts. lights. nbsp;chrome plated the roll over bar. fitted seat belts to front and rear the list goes on.  

The 1600cc twin carb engine I an pretty sure cane from a Volkswagen Type 3 Variant. I have done very little to the engine and gear box other than normal servicing it also looks pretty original It starts and runs and  has never given me any issues.

The buggy has just passed the mot (with a couple of minor advisories) the expiry date is 12 May 2015 I have every mot since I put the buggy back on the road 9 years ago.

The buggy has no wet weather gear it only goes out in the sunshine.  This is a very reluctant sale I need my space in my garage.

The vehicle has a tax disc and mot expiry date of May 2015 so you can drive away with no problems.
