1959 Bedford CA Dormobile

This is a very unique and very rare 1959 Bedford CA Dormobile. It is also the very sought after Porthole model and is a genuine Martin Walter conversion.
I have owned this Great little classic camper since february 1992 and it is a very reluctant sale but i have recently purchased a more modern camper and i also have many other classic vehicles to contend with.
This vehicle is a running restoration and everything is original except the registration. The previous owner transfered the original registration ( NCF 715 ) to another vehicle. I have never bothered to change the later registration but it can be changed to an age related number.
It is the two berth lift up roof model.
It is original paint. Original interior. Original working Dudley gas cooker. Gas light. Water tank. Original wash basin. It even has the original roof rack which sits in front of the lift up roof. ( Currently removed) It also includes the gas bottle under the floor.
The engine starts first time. every time. It has a three speed column change transmission which is very smooth but the clutch may need to be replaced or some adjustment. I have had all the brakes and wheel cylinders replaced in 2009.
I drove the vehicle twelve miles to my new barn last week. It drove fine but the brakes will need bleeding and i would also suggest new tyres as the cross ply tyres are over twenty years old. All the electrics work fine except the indicators which dont flash as they should in the correct direction. Probably a bad earth.
The rear door glass has been removed because of perished rubbers but i have new window rubbers. they just need to be fitted. I have also had a hand made  full set of new curtains in period design and colours.
The vehicle has always been garaged during my 22 years of ownership. Also the first owner kept a very comprehensive catalogue of all work carried out together with dates since 1962 and i still have all this paperwork.
It is a 1959 vehicle. so it has free tax and it is mot exempt.
It still has the original owners manual which was supplied with the vehicle when new.
I am sure that some welding will be needed and some bodywork but that is up to the new owner. It still looks just wonderful as it is. You may want to leave the interior original but it could certainly do with new trim.
This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to own a Bedford CA Porthole like this. This is not the usual junk that you see advertised. It is a true classic.
