FOR SALE
CAR IS BEING RE-ADVERTISED DUE TO A NO SHOW FROM A PROSPECTIVE BUYER
For sale my 1972 RHD Alfa Romeo GTAm Recreation in Bianco White. a rare car and an increasing investment these days as classic Italian cars are rising in value fast . This time warp car has only covered 13 k miles since leaving the factory in 1972. with all the old MOTs to prove. when did you last see a classic Alfa for sale with such a low mileage? . it's been in Alfa private collections under cover for most of its life. Built on a Giulia 105 1. 6 twin headlamp GT Junior the car was completely re-built in 1998 by the then owner to GTAm spec. The car then went on to compete many times in the Top Hat Historic Race Series [see pictures]. The spec includes full FIA multi-point Safety Devices roll cage. Ridgard leather racing seats. Luke race harnesses. battery cut-out and plumbed in fire suppression system which at present I have dis-connected and complemented with twin Cibie 9 inch rally lights. fibreglass boot and bonnet. the correct riveted GTAm arches and GTAm design gold wheels and a spare set of Minilite 15 x 8 wheels as seen in the racing photograph. The car brakes and suspension have been refurbished with receipts and the car is fitted with a limited slip differential. The engine is a Chris Whelan prepared 2 litre twin cam. twin spark race engine on twin Webber 45 mm carburettors [with build receipts]. Nitrided crank. shot peened rods and Alfetta Turbo Delta forged pistons from a NORD engine [single spark] so they produce high compression in a twin spark motor. Cams are special high lift long duration 300 degree Cat Cam race items mated to a polished and ported big valve cylinder head with type 123 electronic distributor. the engine is still not fully run-in and has only done 400 miles since its last reburb. A similar Alfa engine to this spec today would cost you around £10 k at today's price The car weighs just under 950 kg so with that glorious sound of that brutal twin cam engine on full chat its a true retro experience and fast. The Alfa is in very good solid condition with new floor pans and re-furbished brakes. gearbox and good paintwork for a car some 42 years old. The car comes with current MOT and historic free road tax. A unique low mileage well sorted car. when did you see another one like this for sale with a full race engine fitted at this sort of price?. The car is also fitted with a Stack data logging system. The revcounter pictured is in fact an exact replica of the Alfa Romeo one that was fitted to this car but is a ST 400 professional Stack electronic one and is fed by pulses from the ignition system. It can show maximum revs. lap times. shift light. lap times and many other functions. I do not use this system as I do not use the car for track or racing I just intend to take the car to classic car events. But this is an expensive piece of kit to buy and fit so the new owner gets the benefit of this costly item thrown in. As stated a rare car that will only increase in value over the years as there are so few of them about. I might be willing to take an interesting car in part/ex plus cash. please take note that no test drives are on offer. so no test pilots or tyre kickers thank you. why not try me. 0 after 5 pm. I reserve the right to remove this add at any time as the car is advertised elsewhere.
