VW Golf MK2 GTI 16V in Atlas Grey 3 door FSH, New MOT & Road Tax

WELCOME to the sale of my much loved & desirable. last of the "small bumper"  MK2 GOLF GTi 16V 3 door which was subject to a recent 5 months Rolling restoration. partly cosmetic but predominantly mechanical.

Presented in Atlas Grey Metallic (LP7V) paint with "Red & Grey" Tartan check RECARO GTi interior with original 1980's BLAUPUNKT Atlanta SQR 49 Radio/ Cassette player as well as the optional 15 " BBS RA alloy wheels. which have just recently been professionally refurbished and refitted with nearly new KUMHO Ecsta HM 195/50/15 (82V) tyres.  My car also benefits from F. S. H. (itemised below). full V5C registration document in my name. a Thatcham Cat 2 insurance approved immobiliser (with certificate). a recent 20K miles Major Service and complete overhaul of numerous "wear & tear" components (listed below).
It's HPI clear (with certificate). it has a new MOT which it passed recently without any advisories and with very low/clean emissions.
MOT valid until 26th of November 2014 & Road tax until the end of May 2014. It's ready for the new owner to simply drive away.
 This MK2 GTi 16V was first registered in August 1989 @ "Simpsons Garage LTD. "  a VW Dealer in Lowestoft. here in East Anglia. This VW Dealer is still in business at the same address. under a New name of "Robinsons VW".  They are aware of my Golf and very kindly gifted their Tax disc holder & rear window sticker. FOC.
Unlike so many MK2 Golf GTis out there . mine has fully documented & comprehensive. nbsp;Full Service History for the past 24 years. half of which (the first 12 years) is from the very same VW Dealer who SOLD the car NEW. back in 1989. The rest of the service history is from none VAG garages.  It's fully stamped (17 stamps from Simpsons Garage) in the original VAG Service History booklet.  The rest of the service history is also stamped/noted in the same VAG S. H. booklet and supported by numerous invoices. all bound in an A4 folder.

In addition to the above F. S. H. .  I also have old MOT certificates dating back to 1999 and a complete DVLA Owner history print out showing my GTi has spent all of it's life here in East Anglia. starting in Lowestoft on the Suffolk Coast. then moving inland to Norwich in Norfolk. followed by a brief move to Essex and finally arriving here in Cambridge in 2011. where it's been ever since.
Furthermore. this particular GTi hasn't suffered from the common rust issues often associated with the MK2 Golfs and it is clear to see that one of the previous owners has invested a lot of time. money & effort in a full. window out re-sprayed (in it's original Atlas Grey colour) few years ago. prior to my purchase.  It has since been Waxoiled & anti-stone chipped underneath to keep any potential rust at bay.
The car has also had a brand new OEM windscreen fitted. most likely at the time of the re-spray. The paint work is still in great condition and the windscreen remains chip free.  The interior is also in excellent condition without the usual droopy headlining or ripped/worn out/collapsed driver seat.  All the buttons & switches work as they should. including MFA. rear screen wiper & defroster as well as both electric windows. There's also a full set of "GENUINE VW" Heavy Duty rubber floor mats installed. protecting the original black interior carpet.
As mentioned above. in the past 5 months my GTi 16V has been subject to what can best be described as a sympathetic "Rolling Restoration" with a general OEM theme in mind. bringing it back to what it once was. back in 1989.
This entailed sourcing many rare parts including 16V GTi specific exhaust down pipe (New GENUINE VW old stock) & a reconditioned exhaust manifold to go along with the rest of the OEM exhaust system that the previous owner had fitted 12 months earlier. At the same time the original factory ride height has been restored to what it once was with the aid of many NEW OEM (or better than OEM) suspension components listed below.
