This is a VW Beetle Project for sale


It is a weird and Rare South African Beetle - these have different specification to the european cars.

Very rare to find one of these in the UK and very cool to own.

 - Very Do able project -


Its a 1970s style shell on an early style King and link pin Chassis with early style 5 stud wheels - The south african cars are a bit of an odd-ball

We think its a 1975 - we cant find a list of South African Chassis numbers to confirm. Some parts of the car are date stamped 1975. nbsp; DVLA Have it on an N reg (1975) but the V5 says "manufactured in 1987". It was imported in 1995 but like I say. said to be a 1975 car.

It has been off the road for a long time (over 10 years) 

It needs some love (welding) to the heater channels but you don't have to replace them. They will repair with some patches and a bit of time as they are not that bad.

The floor pans look very solid

The worst bodywork is the rear roof sections beside the rear window - again very reapairable and not an MOT failure.
 
The gutters are good

The spare wheel well has been done - however it has been fitted with an early front valance for a long bonnet but still has a short bonnet on it! It would be very easy to make this car look much earlier with a set of early wings and a long bonnet.  

The rear valance is not attached and looks like it was going to be made to be removable for easy engine access

The shell rolls fine and the handbrake works

and it has those horrible SA Elephants leg rear lights (elephants foot lights with spacers) - easy to change to something nicer -  I have a pair of tomb stones that can go with it instead of these?

Being a south african the seats are different too.   the previous owner has some headrests to go with them and if / when I get hold of them they will be passed on if you want them?

I have the V5 - it will be put into the new owners name

What you see is what you get.

Come take a look and have a poke at it.   its not that bad!

It is an interesting project

I think it is way too good to break up so I am putting it here in the hope that some one will save him. I really dont have the time.

It is in Bedfordshire.

It obvioulsy he has no MOT or TAX and so needs to be Trailered / Recovered to your home
