1946 DODGE HOTROD PICKUP

Up for grabs is my very cool '46 Dodge pickup. Freshened up early 80's carbed 350/350 chevy drivetrain runs fantastic.  Haywire harness with everything ran through relays and has functioning neutral safety switch / high beam indicator / blinkers / and all engine and fuel gauges. Has air gauges for all 4 bags and tank but need lines run to them. Camaro subframe reinforced and fitted with Slam RE7 bags. New balljoints / tierod ends and computer alligned. Shocks relocated to rear of lower A-arms and frenched into side of frame for clearance. Original part of chassis completely reworked with scratchbuilt subframe in rear consisting of an 18" step in frame and kickass triangulated 3 link setup and RE7s mounted on gusseted chromoly steel lower control arms. All hooked up to a lincoln 8. 8 rear with 2:70 gears and disc brakes. Very beefy and strong enough to pull a trailer with the receiver / license plate mount. Rides GREAT. Full 8 valve FBSS setup with about 10 lbs of brass used to get the valves lined up for aesthetic appeal. Overall wheelbase shortened about 9 inches to get a pleasing profile. Front fenders widened 3 inches to fatten it up a bit and make room for the 16x7 wheels with radial whitewalls. Military headlights mounted to chromed handmade bars give even more to the fat 'n wide look. Front clip has 2 1/2 inch tube radiator support that mounts to the original holes in the Camaro sub. '65 Mustang radiator with trans cooler lines built in. No electric fan needed as the flex fan cools perfectly. Inside is a sweet interior with custom upholstery and completely hand fabricated dash using 60's ford big truck bezel. '63 Merc steering column and wheel. Early 60's brake/gas pedal/rear view mirror. 30's Arvin heater retrofitted with late model core and blower. Windshield still pops out and cowl vent still opens. Doors redone with restored regulators and latches. Window felt and channels all new. Back window etched with pinup girl and inside garnish chromed. Headliner needs to be finished but top half is done and uses the original dome light relocated to top center. It would take 3 seperate ads to list all of the hand fabbed and custom work so please feel free to call and ask questions. The body is pretty much the best stuff of 3 different Dodge bodies. Top has been replaced because the original was smashed beyond repair. The weld line gives some people the impression it has been chopped. It has. about 1/16th inch. I love the patina and the body is beat up so paint/bodywork was never in the plan for this truck. However. it is extremely rust free and solid with the only real rust being on the lower tailgate. This truck has over 9000 miles since completion (I use that word loosely. are they ever finished?) and has been driven all over the country. Recently drove over 300 miles with a Volkswagen dunebuggy in tow. Here's what it needs-- wipers. airlines to gauges. headliner around back window finished. one piece of stainless fitted to floor under driver's door to cover the carpet edge. passenger fender headlight divot filled.  I have tried to list all the major aspects of this truck but I'm sure I may leaving some things out so please call and ask anything as I will be glad to talk to serious buyers. I have done ALL of the work to this truck with the exception of the glass and upholstery (which my mom stitched up) so there is no question I can't answer regarding the build. Truck has a clear TX title and currently registered in my name ready for transfer. Note: I have included some build pics and the these were taken right after the frame was painted so after a couple years and some road rash the exposed components in the bed are not as pretty as they used to be. That being said. don't let the patina fool you. this is a very well built. well executed hotrod that fits every scene; ratrod. streetrod. lowrider. whatever you want to call it.

I've added some pics of the inside of the bed area. It had just rained and I drove through some puddles and everything was pretty dirty. As you can see. the chromoly tubing used for the top wishbone and the lowers have a bit of surface rust. This was done purposely to go with the overall theme.
