Citroën DS 19 1965 for sale
Current customer rating:
Here we offer a Citroën DS 19 1965 model ( late model with central nut wheels ) semi-automatic gearbox . power steering in original condition .
Those
vehicles
are becoming quite rare in
driveable
and good condition .
This car has been bought by her first French owner the 5 th of May 1965 . and he
keeps
it until 1974 .
Then the car stayed in the same family since 1974. the second owner was the father and now it's the
son
(63 years old ) who
maintained
it in good order but drive it few . that's the reason of the sale .
The car has been recently
completely
overhauled . brakes .
hydraulic
system (still Red liquid LHS 2) . new exhaust . all liquids and filters changed (1500 £ spent on last bill 11/2013 ) . she runs smoothly and perfectly . everything works ( except the heating tap ) . but you've to use it with the kindness due to a lady of nearly 50 years old . the certified genuine mileage is 120 500 kms ( 74 900 miles ) the original paint was
Carmine
Red ( AC 411 ) and the roof was first painted in Silver grey ( AC 141 ) . Some years ago the car has been fully
resprayed
in red (similar to carmine red ) . span class=Apple-converted-space>
but not a first class job . With the years some little varnish lacks appeared but the paint is still shiny and presentable . The body of the car is in quite good condition for a DS but some
places
needs attention and rusted points need to be treated or replaced . like the front left door with some
bubbles
of rust at the bottom . The tyres are Michelin X type not too old . they can be used as they are for some more miles . but not for “a round the world trip” .
The only change from the origin is the Pallas
trims
inside and outside with the full gimmicks of that model . Only one chrome is missing at the back of the rear right wing .
the rear lights
have to be orange and red with
chromed
inserts and the wheel covers are not a Pallas model but a DS 19 one .
All in all it's not too
eccentric
and the purists can easily return to the original model . The leather interior is in good condition . just the
driver seat
and carpets
needs attention .
As you've understood it is not a “Villa d' Este “
concourse
condition . but
an
honest original DS 19 with the benefit of good TLC all her past life . usable as it is . or ready for a complete cosmetic restoration . it's up to you !
The car is safely garaged in the South Ouest of France ( between Cognac and Bordeaux ) and if a trip to drive it back
is frightening
you .
we
can deliver it at extra cost .
Sold with French registration documents and a positive French M. O. T ( Contrôle Technique) valid till end of 2014 .
Owner's manual handbook . span class=Apple-converted-space>
lots
of bills and some spare parts come with.
We have settled a very reasonable reserve price knowing that this car is far from being perfect . and sometime the Ds market is “ overboosted ”.
Serious buyers welcome . if you're under 10 positive feedback call us before bidding .
