Well as they say ‘where do I start'…

I bought this car just under 4 years ago as a fairly tired 1990 325i convertible in red with 140. 00 on the clock the car was solid but was far from clean or mint. After about £15. 00 - £20. 00 its there.

As you can see from the photos I have had an E36 M3 3. 2 petrol engine (110. 00 on the clock) professionally fitted just under 2 years ago. believe me when I say this thing is a rocket with 320bhp as standard from an 3. 2 M3 engine. That is without considering a custom hi-performance inlet manifold made by Predator customs. The whole exhaust is a custom twin pipe exhaust that is made specifically for this conversion.

As far as the engine is concerned it came out of a 1995 E36 M3 that was solid but the owner wanted to do an engine conversion hence the spare engine. I had the engine assessed at a BMW specialists to check Vanos and general function to which there were no problems and the Vanos levels were exact which he said is fairly un-heard of. I have had the con-rod bolts replaced and various seals and gaskets replaced (all professionally) so the engine runs so quiet and true. I had a brand new clutch fitted at the time of the conversion too. A new Z3 steering rack was fitted just 2 weeks ago to give better handling also. I have recently been ‘shaving' the engine bay with the battery being moved to the boot. brake lines tucked as well as the cabling being hidden under engine wells and all loom being tucked behind a custom carbon fibre firewall guard. There is also a brand new Mishimoto radiator fitted too.

With all this power has to come control so I have had a Wilwood big brake system fitted on the front with red callipers to match and black Diamond Discs on the back. this thing could stop on a penny!

I have had a brand new set of 17” Calibré vintage wheels fitted last summer. there is not one mark on them as I have done about 150 miles in the car since last summer. They are 8j on the front and 9j's on the back (the 9j's are custom as they came straight from the manufacture so they could be drilled and fitted specifically for the car). These beautiful alloys are wrapped in only the best. Yokohama Prada's low profile. Since I had the wheels fitted I have done a max of 150 miles! The car has of course been lowered on coilovers. which are not too hard and give a great ride.

The interior has been completely re-done in Italian cream leather. which is totally unmarked. and all functions work as they were re-done when they got re-covered. The interior (seats. door cards. side panels. back seats and horseshoe (folding hood lid)) were re-done by an ex-BMW upholster! I bought a brand new ‘out of the box' Mtech 2 steering wheel for £350 which really sets the interior off! All controls work. all windows work and heater works on all settings as a new blower got fitted a few years ago.

The exterior: re-sprayed (professionally) including engine bay. 2 years ago in Brilliant red including the mtech1 bodykit that was fitted as a factory option. The front grills. scuttle grills. side mouldings. front window gasket are all brand new BMW OME parts. Also fitted with a black kidney grill. smoked head lights and led back lights. New glass fitted in wing mirrors and a brand new windscreen just fitted a few weeks ago. The hood is mint. no leaks and all seals are tight! Cleaned. re-coloured and waterproofed last summer. There is 0% rust on arches. boot lid and anywhere on hood or engine bay.

The boot has been re-lined and currently houses all amps and subs (all Alpine) not that you would notice as they are all in hide-away panels. The amazing head unit is Alpine as all speakers in front and back. the car has also been completely fitted with Dynomat so the sound is true and also clean.

The car has been fitted with a Cobra cat1 alarm. which is great for reducing insurance. also comes with 2 key fobs for remote locking / alarming.

There are only 4 things I can say I haven't had time to do on this car and they are…

Re-carpet the interior. The guy that had the car before me had a monster sound system fitted and has cut the carpet in half in the back. you cant notice as I have had a section of carpet fitted over. other than that cut the carpet is still good with no marks / damp / damage. more a cosmetic amendment.

On the warning panel above your head the engine oil light is on. this has nothing to do with the engine and it just needs a simple disconnection.

The wing mirror mirrors are not wired up yet.

There is no reverse light. this is not an MOT requirement. The only reason for it not working is the connection is in a very tight area above the gearbox and the BMW Technician said it would take a half a day to get to the connection and so I didn't think it was worth it.

Other than those I have to say this car is incredible and a massive head-turner! The sound is incredible and the power will make you wet your pants! The reason for the sale is that I pay for a garage space just to keep this car in a dry secure area and have done for the past 2 years. in that time the car has maybe done 250-450 miles. I guess I just want a car that I can take out more often. The only reason I don't take it out more. is it's an inconvenience and I love it when its mint and clean and so never take it out when its wet! Sad!

I will put 6 months tax on the car and also give it a 12 month mot with no advisories by BMW as it has had for the past 2 years.

For some people a car like this is a dream and seems unachievable but this is almost 4 years of hard work. hear- ache and a stack of cash. A classic car that is only appreciating in value.

Please only contact me with genuine questions / enquiries. If you think the car is not worth the money that's fine. go and find me an identical car you can buy for less. This car is a one-off. I almost forgot I have emails from Seb. the editor of Performance BMW who said he wants to feature the car. The only reason it has not happened yet is I needed to be more focused on small details in some of the pictures that you can see like all the BMW badges on the wheels facing the same way. the steering wheel being more straight etc. but never got round to it as I was waiting for a sunny day… that was in October!

With summer fast approaching. the top down. music on and booting 80mph in 3rd gear you will fall in love with this car very quickly!
