I am selling this Pontiac Trans Am that I have owned now for quite a few years.
It was originally a 455 car. but now has a 400 in it.
The engine swap happened around 20 years ago.
The original 4 speed gearbox is still in the car.
It was imported from the continent when it was only a few years old in around 1980.
Since I have owned the car it has had a bare-metal respray and this still looks very good.
I have spent a small fortune on this car in total and have the bills to prove it.
A list of some of the things I have had done include :-
New clutch New front shocks New brakes New sub frame bushes Re built brake servo New battery in 2012 Refurbished snowflake wheels. all with good tyres New fuel sender and fuel lines Etc etc. you get the picture
The tyres are good all round. but are a few years old now.
The engine is really strong and has been very reliable on the few long trips that I have made.
The carb is a Holley 625 with vacuum secondary.
I rebuilt this about 4 years ago.
It has had the choke disabled. but starts easily with a few pumps of the gas pedal.
It just needs warming a little before driving off - not a bad idea with any old car.
The interior could do with a new headliner at some point and some seat covers. but these aren't expensive items at all.
The last MOT didn't come up with any serious advisories and the car hasn't been driven much since.
I am selling because I have another yank that I enjoy more than the trans am and I haven't used it enough in the past few years to warrant keeping it any longer.
A potential house move is also on the cards. so I am scraping together as much as I can towards that as well.
