I bought this car when listed on BAT in  August of 2012.   The odometer says 17. 00 and though it looks very nice this would be too hard to believe.   The prior owner said it had 5. 00 miles on it which was what he had driven since having had the engine rebuilt.   It runs like a dream - nothing sounds like a rotary - zipping thru the rev range -  a visceral pleasure each time. For those of you who know these cars you will know they originally (the 12A engine) came with an auto-oiler - the prior owner & I both feel more secure manually adding 1 oz of two-stroke oil to each gallon of gasoline - it is worth the peace of mind.   I am selling the RX2 as too many of my cars are going to outlast me and if I leave it up to my wife it would likely cause me to loose sleep in the next world. This car is as tight as they come - the hood shows evidence of a re-spray and though it seems improbable the rest of the car looks amazingly original - no promises but have a look and pls ask if you'd like a closeup of a particular area.

here is the BAT listing & comments - a fun read to see what others will/may think of your new ride - Response by both the car-knowledgeable techies and the simply curious has been very rewarding - not many of these little jewels can be found just drivin' round the neighborhood.

And below is the ORIGINAL  EBAY AD  referred to in the BAT listing above:

"1972 Mazda RX2 sedan. This is a very clean and tastefully upgraded car. All upgrades can easily be reverted to original condition. This vehicle was originally from the west coast has always been garage kept. Never seen winter. salt or rain during it's life in Michigan. Paint is shinny with a few scratches that have been touched up on the drivers side behind the rear door. I discovered a few very small 'under the paint' rust bubbles on the passenger side rear wheel wells smaller then a pencil eraser. Underside of car is very nice. Interior is nice with the exception the torn drivers seat. Overall a very nice looking and driving car.

Here are the specs: rebuilt 13b from a 1985 RX-7 GSL-SE I would estimate I have put 5K miles on the rebuild in the last four years.
5 speed transmission from 1979 RX-7
dual side draft Weber carburators (45 DCOE)
Racing Beat intake
Racing Beat pre-silencer
Racing Beat stainless muffler
new Konig wheels and 205x50x15 tires (less than 5k miles)
aluminum radiator and electric fan
high output coils
Re-speed dual belt altenator pulley
new large oil cooler and stainless lines
aluminum oil pedestal with gauge ports
VDO aftermarket gauges installed (lines need to be connect and will be included)
new battery. new starter. new alternator. new water pump"

Additionally I have since my purchase added a pair of beautiful NEW Sparco Milano Prestige Reclining Seats

- replaced the springs with 23mm shorter and slightly stiffer Whiteline coils at all four corners making the stance a tad more aggressive . - see pics

- replaced all bushings: front & rear shock mountings. nbsp;track rods. Panhard rod. nbsp;anti-sway bars with Whiteline neoprene high performance bushings- see pics.

- added larger front and new rear anti-sway bars- see pics

- replaced upper & lower ball joints & tie rod ends

- added rear (Tochico) and front  (KYB)  mono-tube high pressure gas shocks

If you would like them the following original parts will be included:

The original front seats. coil springs. front sway bar and 4-spd trans can be provided if desired.

This RX2 is now  an excellent driving automobile though quite a bit more firm than stock it is great fun and is surprisingly fast.

Here's hoping it goes to an appreciative new owner - it's a great little car.
