Land rover lightweight

Tax Free land rover lightweight rebuilt on Galvanized chassis. Galvanized front panel. Rot free lower bulkhead and galvanized top panel.

Engine was overhauled during restoration with new clutch. Master cylinder and slave cylinder. Head has hardened seats and valve. Rebuilt weber carb with new diaphragms. jets etc. Certificated LPG system with 90 Liter tank. Refurbished petrol tank with electronic fuel pump and ignition.

Gearbox was stripped. cleaned. inspected and new parts used as needed including 3-4 sync mesh so don't jump out of gear. Overdrive was rebuilt using new bearings and shimmed as required to factory specification so runs really smoothly. Axles rebuilt with new half shafts. Driven members and refurbished diffs. Fount axle has freewheeling hubs.

Brakes are off a late series 3 with vacuum assist so stop well. Handbrake works!

Tires are in good condition. There is a spare not photographed which is serviceable.

New door tops and bottoms so no rust there. Top on driver side in photos is still an old one as have not finished paining new one but that will be sorted.

When the tub was off a second hand rot free floor was used along with new cross braces and new parts fabricated as needed.

Canvas works but is starting to show age. There is a hard top available with cat flap rear door.

Battery is in second tank (new old stock with top removed) du t when I got chassis made left off battery tray due to plans to fit 200 tdi. Then a gas kit came up so went that way instead. Tank makes a useful storage locker.

Seats are re trimmed defender seats.

Bad points

Fuel gauge for LPG tank doesn't work. I was told at time of getting it certified it most likely is the resistor on outside of tank that is easily changed.

Fuel gauge on petrol under reads about 1/3

Speedo reads 68 miles. That's a new one fitted during rebuild to be correct with 7. 50 tire size however I got the wrong speedo cable that's to long so it stopped working after about 4 months.

Only bid if you're serious. I have been honest about the condition of the vehicle as I see it. Viewing welcome and recommended. Delivery might be possible but please get in touch first. Realistic cash offers considered but I know the value of this vehicle given the work that has been carried out. No Pay Pal due to high fees and low seller protection for vehicle sales. Vehicle will not be released until cleared funds are received.
