1964 Triumph TR4 Base 2.1L for sale

Race. Rally or Restore?
These are all options you have with this TR 4 that has spent its entire life in Los Angeles. Want to get into vintage racing or rallying for a meager amount? This is where your start with a sold undercarriage and frame. the backbone of any car considered for racing or restoration.
If the frame
is rusty move on. Surface rust like on the upper body of this car is not a major issue for restoration or to go racing. Cars found outside of
the warm weather states often are not good candidates for restoration or racing due to their rusty frames.
This car was running when it was parked and the motor currently turns freely. These 2. 2 liter cars have wet-sleeved motors allowing for a change in engine displacement for competition in the under 2. 0 liter class by swapping out the cylinder liners and fitting smaller pistons. Some cars but not this one were fitted with vane-type superchargers and could produce in excess of 200 hp at the flywheel.
In 1962 Bob Tullius won the E Production National Championship in a Kas Kastner prepared TR 4. SCCA reclassified the TR 4 to D Production the following year and Bob Tullius repeated as National Champion in 1963 and 1964.
In Europe TR 4's were successful rally and hill-climb cars.
This TR 4 has a 4-Speed all synchromesh transmission. live axel. rack and pinion steering and is fitted with a roll bar. The car has TR 6 wheels and a dealer optional hardtop. The car also has it front number and a pair of black California plates and the parts shown in the group parts photo. This white car has been painted just once.
