The last year the Cougar ever came in a convertible was 1973 and to find a 73 Cougar convertible is hard enough. but find one with the XR 7 package is few and far between.

This car is rare!!!!!
Oh did we mention its a factory AC car as well. even more rare and collectable!
This Arizona Mercury Cougar is a factory matching numbers XR 7 with only 90. 00 Original Miles on the clock.

The engine is the real deal factory 351 CID V 8 and at close inspection almost every decal that it came with from factory is still in place. a great indicator that this car has been nicely maintained with love and care by its owner over the years.

The XR 7 Convertible is highly optioned as well. factory air conditioning which is very rare on a convertible model. power steering. power brakes. and 4 way power windows that work as they should. and of course this is a factory bucket - console optioned XR 7.

The XR 7 convertible top is like new and the mechanism works excellent. drop the top and enjoy the sun.

The Exterior Paint is very nice. not show quality by any means but very respectable.

The Exterior Chrome. Trim and Emblems are all in very decent condition as well.

The Convertible Soft Top is quite new and the Power Mechanism works perfectly!
A tonneau cover would be a nice addition as there isnt one with the car but they are readily available.

New Wheels including the Spare in the trunk.

The Interior is all original and is showing wear in many areas.

The Seats and Door Panels appear to have originally been Red and have been dyed White.

We would certainly recommend a new interior kit to improve the overall appearance and it would be more in keeping with the very presentable exterior on this Cougar.

A fresh Red Interior would be very striking with the White Exterior and Black Soft Top!
All the gauges work except the fuel gauge but there is a new sending unit in the trunk.

It is a Power Window car and all four windows operate up and down as they should.

The shifter gate needs to be adjusted as the display is out of sync with the actual gear you are in.

The steering column has a little play in it.

This is also a Factory Air Conditioning car. it does need to be serviced.

It has an aftermarket radio in it currently but a correct Original radio that is in good working condition is included.

The Engine and Drivetrain is all Original to the car and numbers matching . many of the original factory decals are still in place.

The dual exhaust sounds good and has a nice rumble.

The Engine Compartment is very clean and tidy showing pride of ownership and maintenance.

This Cougar drives out nicely. very responsive and with a little interior TLC it would be a very complete and presentable car.
