Current customer rating:
Registered in March 1968 this wonderful Traveller in Trafalgar Blue was sold new to a lady living in Scotland. Within just 12 months she had died leaving her house. possessions and car to her nephew. He decided to keep the car and use it as his everyday runabout and this continued for the next 20 years before the little car went into dry storage. Sometime in the mid-1990`s. this same gentleman. by now a titled businessman. decided to embark on a thorough restoration including new wood. back to bare metal repaint and a rebuild of the engine. The original pale blue trim was retained but fresh carpets and door cards enhanced the interior. The car was then retained for special events. high days and holidays covering around 10. 00 miles until our acquisition in early 2008.
The previous owner has added rear seat belts and undertaken a full servo-assisted disc brake conversion as well as regular servicing. Although the restoration was some years ago. the high quality of the work done has stood the test of time. The panel and paintwork is still excellent with just one or two subtle touch-ups since. All the wood is still very good as is the chrome. Likewise the engine and gearbox are very sweet. always starting first turn and on the road. driving manners are easy. smooth and neutral with eager acceleration. a lovely “parp parp” from the exhaust over-run and of course. great brakes. Those people who have seen the underside of Chutney have always been astonished by the originality and condition.
A lovely Traveller seeking a new home.
