This 1968 Camaro SS has timeless good looks that will never go out of fashion. and thanks to a high-dollar makeover and a 383 cubic inch stroker motor. it has more punch than even an original big block SS396 would have been packing. Finished in stunning Inca Silver with black stripes and a black bucket seat interior. this Camaro is as potent on the street as it is on the show field.   Few cars have endured the years better than the first-generation Camaro. It's rare for a design to remain relevant for decades. but as the newest Camaro proves. there's really nothing like these early F-bodies when you want a car that looks fast. Body is perfect - good gaps. and excellent panel alignment on the new quarters. The beautifully applied silver paint is two-stage urethane. and it's deeper. shinier. and brighter than the factory stuff from 1968. As a result. it really shows off the Camaro's curves—just look at the crisp fender line at the base of the C-pillar. a detail that's often completely lost with other colors. This one also carries an original flat hood with the simulated velocity stacks. as well as a proper blacked-out SS grille and stripe. Look a little closer. and you'll see that the badges on the front fenders accurately reflect the engine that lives within.
Inside. the black bucket seat interior needs little upgrading. because the factory nailed it on the first pass. Fresh seat covers with original patterns and stitching cover the original buckets. and new carpets have been installed. The console is a must-have option. especially with an automatic because it includes the GM horseshoe shifter. Also includes a variation on the 69 SS gauge package. a quartet of round Auto Meter gauges that include temperature. voltage. oil pressure and a matching clock. all tucked into a custom-made housing that looks almost OEM. The original AM radio still lives in the dash. but it has been augmented by a modern Secret Audio AM/FM/CD stereo system that preserves the original appearance but delivers contemporary entertainment. In back. the trunk is coated with correct spatter-finish paint.
The 383 badges on the fenders are no joke. because under the hood you'll find a stroked small block in a beautifully finished engine bay. If you're familiar with the 383. you know it loves to rev yet makes big block levels of torque in a relatively lightweight package. Continuing the monochromatic look of the body. the engine features chrome accents throughout. including the air cleaner. valve covers. a chrome alternator and bracket. and anything that wasn't chromed was painted Inca Silver to match the body. Power steering and power brakes make it a pleasure to drive. and the automatic transmission's quick reflexes make it the ideal cruising partner.  2. 5-inch dual exhaust system with  Flowmaster 40 series mufflers that let the 383 sing. dumping out just behind the rear wheels as original. Rounding out this spectacular Camaro is a set of lovely 17-inch front/18-inch Coys wheels with matching Inca Silver centers on new  performance radials.   Whatever your preference. this Camaro is proof that quality never goes out of style. V8 power. rear-wheel drive. and a gorgeous hardtop body are the right ingredients. but few cars get it as right as this Camaro does. Sophisticated and nicely detailed. you'll be delighted by the many custom touches. and the stout push in the back from the powerful 383 under the hood will make you grin like an escaped convict. You won't be disappointed.
Any questions or additional pictures needed. please let me know.  Lot's of snow on the ground here in PA so additional pics may have to be garage shots. I've had the car a few years now and absolutely love it.  Only reason I'm selling is. I'm looking to get into a rat rod and need to free up a spot in the garage .

Car is also for sale locally and on my Camaro message boards.   I retain the right to end this auction at any time if the car sells through another source. Also- wanted to note the heater core started leaking  year or 2 back.  I disconnected it and have the new one here that will go with the car.  I don't drive it in the winter so I was never in a hurry to replace it.  I do have the new heater core that will go with the car.

Hi there. The car looks perfect. Did you do the restauration yourself, or did you have a professional shop doing it for you? Thx. Ken
