Technical specifications, photos and description:
1967 MERCURY Meteor Station Wagon.
This is a very rare car.
- It has only 48,000 miles!
- Was 1-family owned over 50 years!
It runs like a Swiss watch and drives equally phenomenal.
This is a truly outstanding vintage wagon.
Also, it is absolutely remarkably preserved !!!
Everything about this classic wagon is, well.... Classic wagon. Even the faded vintage pheasant and rainbow trout stickers in the rear side windows.
They can be removed but I opted to leave them intact as homage to the car's history.
Back when new, the original owner used this as his fishing and bird-hunting vehicle.
They decals are quite faded from uv rays and time.
As a sidenote, I had a graphics artist recreate new replicas of these decals and they go with the car.
He also created for me some tribute Summer Vacation "Wally World" decals, and Flintstones theme park.
Within the last 500 miles, we had this car professionally serviced from one end to the other. This was to ensure longevity and reliability.
It includes (but is not limited to) servicing the carburetor, brakes, fuel system (including tank), cooling system, 4 brand new whitewall tires, etc. Everything was tuned, set, and is good to go.
This car is SO COOL. My family has noticed a distinct difference between owning muscle cars, and enjoying a vintage Mercury Station Wagon... (I enjoyed them both BUT) Literally probably 20x more people smile and wave at you in a vintage wagon. Everyone wants to come up and admire the green/white and wood-sided wagon. If you are an outgoing person, this car will bring you SO MUCH FUN. It is so great in so many ways and brings so much joy. You just simply can not be without a smile while driving this car. It's literally a kinetic happiness machine.
- Photographs were taken today (day of listing).
Please refer to the pictures. I've tried my best to photo document the car accurately.
*** No more pictures will be taken ***
Look closely at the ones supplied and extrapolate from the feedback others have left.
- If you are uncomfortable/uneasy, simply please don't bid. Keep in mind:
- Neither me or my wife are salespeople. We're not going to try talking anyone into anything. The car is unreserved and will sell anyhow. Our efforts are put into helping the winner in any way we can.
We are selling off all our vintage cars. Simply put, I've lost most of my enthusiasm for cars. That said, this car brought me more joy than almost any of the others... hence reason it is one of the last to go.
We'll make an offer I don't see any other sellers doing:
You can send a professional appraiser to come and see.
- I will be more than accommodating.
- In fact, if your given any legitimate reason to not buy this car... I will pay for the appraisal !!!
I don't think there's many eBay sellers willing to stand behind their listed vehicle like this.
The car is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- Please note: Ebay does not have provision for people with multiple residences
- Please don't ask us where it's located.... It's Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- Shipping will be from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Because of it's age and domestic build,
This car is free of any import/export restrictions,
and can travel perfectly freely.
Title can be transferred as easily as state to state. No difference.
Please do not ask what special papers it needs for the US... Answer is NONE.
Once again, it can travel as freely as state to state, and titles are perfectly and immediately transferable.
Take a look at our feedback. Selling off our cars, we have built some very decent feedback. Common themes are "very helpful", "trust Johnny & Sophia", and "vehicle better than described". My wife Sophia has gotten pretty good at arranging shipping. She'll set everything up for you. You won't have to lift a finger. Most states are I the 1,500 to 2,000 dollar price range. Furthermost destinations like Texas and Florida range about 2,250. Please budget for at least this much. *** Please note ... I understand this may have come up a bit due to rising fuel costs etc. ***
EUROPEAN shipping is NO PROBLEM. Please inquire if this applies to you.
Vehicle must be paid for within 72 hours of end of auction, unless previous arrangements made before end of auction.
As mentioned, we have sold off 30+ cars. Please see our feedback! I have lost my enthusiasm for cars. During our sell-off, my wife has gotten pretty darn good at setting up shipping and taking care of everything. She'll do the same for the Mercury too! Delivery to most US states is in the 1,500 to 1,750 range. Further destinations, like Florida and Texas, are in the 2,250 range. (please budget a little more as I understand it's come up a bit just recently)
The car is mostly original, with only "survivor" type maintenance. There appears to be some very old (70's perhaps) paint touch-up's on the lower extremities. Since there isn't any rust in these areas, I'm prone to believe it was an effective preventative measure. The rear window seems to have stopped working. I think it's a sticky key mechanism. Currently it is inoperative, and being worked on this upcoming week. This should hopefully be remadied. There is 1 crack in the dashpad.
The mileage was adamantly stated to me as correct and I have maintenance records to document.
We have all provenance records right back to, and including, original sales documentation. This incudes owner's manual and warranty papers.
Nothing much else left to say. I'm human so please expect that I've probably missed something. If you have any questions, please write. I'll check messages several times daily and respond. If you'd like to speak on the phone, I'm happy to arrange that too.
With that said, Good Luck and happy bidding!
