 This is one of the best conditions I have seen on a 1956 willies in near original condition.   There is a partial frame on restoration and most systems are updated.   However. the rear bumper is still original and the interior is almost completely original. or refinished to match the original design.   This vehicle has had a lot of work done and is a great piece for anyone looking for one in great condition.   Some things about this willies.   The drive train was replaced with Dana 44 front axle. tom wood's drive shafts (front and rear). Dana 300 transfer case. NV4500 transmission. and 4. 7 small block Chevy.   The Engine runs well for the age and has a 2 barrel carburetor that is a little sensitive to temperatures when starting but runs well when warmed up.   The brake system has been completely rerun with new lines and power assist on the custom petals that still go into the floor like the original.   The front suspension was replaced with alcan springs to raise the height and the rear has a axle under conversion on the leaf springs.   The steering system in almost perfectly in line and has no bump steer that is common in larger vehicles.   The steering system was replaced with a international steering box and could be converted to power steering with the simple addition of a pump if you desired.   Have driven this willys about 2000 miles since the rebuild/restoration and it is a joy to drive and performs well on the highway or the back road.   The steering stabilizers make for a smooth ride.
