Beautiful 1965 VW Beetle - Stunning in Red - Ready for the Summer

This is an original 1965 RHD UK registered VW Beetle.

I bought this car last summer after it had been restored (restoration was featured in Volks World March 11. magazine which I have here).  The owner also shared photos of its restoration here

As you can see I bought it as my company is called Red Beetle Films but sadly this car is not earning its keep as we cannot get all of our camera equipment in it! The Red Beetle Films vinyl letters are on the inside of the glass (front and back) and are easily removed in two minutes – I just haven't got the heart to do it! This is a sad sale but we need another van!

The car was lowered and narrowed when I bought her but I had her raised with a new bar for a better ride (it was scuffing everything!)  I also had new shocks. brakes and exhaust fitted. Receipts available totalling £1800. Plus all the additional receipts from previous owner.

The car was garaged throughout the winter and has only come out today and started with no problems.

1641 engine.

The interior is as original and the dash has not been butchered.

I bought it with every intention of finishing off the interior restoration.   Sadly all I have had time to do is install speakers using a retro radio as a free standing housing – so it just looks like it has an old radio sat in the back. That little addition looks cool but this car really needs someone to finish off the inside.

It has the original red vinyl seats which look amazing (even with a few rips!).   I have bought the new carpets and they are still in the packet for the new owner to fit. They are the proper carpets to fit a 1965 RHD beetle and are from Newton Commercial in oatmeal and cost almost £300

The doors need tinkering with as they are difficult to shut tight. I was going to get this done when I had the inside re-sprayed. The respray inside is straight forward with the only attention needed around the door frames.  (I was quoted £300 for the respray. ) The inside would also benefit from new interior door panels as the current ones are a bit tatty.  

The speedo stopped working so I bought a new speedo cable which is in the packet waiting for the new owner.

 I also have a cool aerial in the packet waiting for the new owner.

So there we go. She looks beautiful on the outside. and with a little effort will look beautiful on the inside too. She drives well. We've covered less than 1000 miles in her including the day of purchase drive from Newquay back to South Wales.
