Available now from one of the only tenured Jeep CJ shops in the world is a never rotted, all original sheet metal driver quality, 1982 Jeep Scrambler w an improved fuel injected 6 cylinder..It came from the Southern states and was owned by an elderly gentleman with enough wisdom to know carburetors are problematic.  I'm afraid he expired and this was purchased from his family. This Jeep has no bubbling rust on it and has never been patched or had to have metal replaced. It is not slicked up with undercoating or bed liner.  It was painted awhile ago in its original color which is one of my favorites.  Sherwood green metallic.  This color is beautiful in the sun w a nice era appropriate metallic shine.  It is a driver quality older paint job.  The good thing about an old paint job is if there was body work to worry about, it would've shown up by now.  The spot welds are evident on the body which means it is original.  Jeep CJs were not 'straight' smooth metal from the factory.  The factory assembly marks (spot welds) are evident as they should be.  On many rusted and painted Jeeps you will see the sides will be slicked up with body filler (you cannot see the spot welds).   There is no bubbling rust on this Jeep but there were some small 1/8" holes drilled along the sides of this Jeep for decorative trim at some point.   The correct decals were reapplied over the small holes and the decals do show their age with minor peeling as shown.  The top was painted and looks better than it should.  This is NOT a rot free $45k show quality Jeep Scrambler for $30k.  I restate this as I want people to be happy and set realistic expectations for whomever purchases this.  This Jeep will sell and if it goes to the right person, they will be very happy. It is a nice, never rotted, rare, widetrac Jeep Scrambler.  (Widetrac refers to the differentials being wider than the 81 versions).  It is generally the more desirable feature in the marketplace as it is slightly more stable.  All Scramblers are widetrac except 1981 models. This body is Jeep straight excepting deflections in the bed where it was used like a truck...because it is a truck. If it bothers you, a color matched bed lining would really smooth this out and protect the very nice metal.   FYI, adding one or two rows of seats back there is a common thing to do if you have more folks to run around at the cabin.  There is also the common hood dent where it is set on the windshield frame,  The underside could use a spray of undercoating as I believe this Jeep sat after he passed.  Usually you will see a dealer slather a bunch of a tarry substance under a vehicle to sell but I'd rather you see what you are getting.  The floors have ZERO rot top or bottom.  The frame is full thickness.  I say it this way as on many CJs the frame rusts from the inside out and the thickness gets compromised. You will see layers of metal falling away.  This Jeep has nothing like that going on and it still black w only spots of surface rust after 40 years.  The elderly gentleman who owned this insisted on EFI and paid a lot to have the next gen inline 6 installed with port fuel injection.  It is a 4.0 with a Hot wires wire harness.  This means it get better economy, has more power, starts easier and is more reliable than original BUT it looks relatively stock as the 4.2 and the 4.0 are essentially the same engine.   When Chrysler bought AMC in 1987 they scrapped the always problematic V8 with all its oiling troubles and kept the 6 cylinder until 2006.  This engine bolts right up to the stock transmission and engine mounts without any custom adapters.  It does not smoke and sounds like a modern 4.0 in a Cherokee or Wrangler. It has a good factory T4 four speed manual transmission with a Dana 300 transfer case.  Both work like they should.  This Jeep is not lifted and rides, drives and brakes well on its original suspension.   Power brakes and power steering. The wheels and center caps are original and the tires are new new and stock sized. It has an original dash and rare JEEP branded AM radio. The dash pad is in nice shape.  The seats are aftermarket and more comfortable than original.  Drivers seat shows minor wear.  Original gauges and lights all work.I have sold hundreds of Jeep CJs in my 15 years of business and can get this shipped out to you easily or local pickup and inspections are appreciated and welcomed.  Of course this Jeep is available on my website and this listing will end when it sells. Ebay doesn't want us to talk but I'm easy to find on the web and would prefer to talk with you so we can make sure you'd be happy with your purchase.  Talking about $30k is way better than emailing about $30k.  I want you to be happy...speaking of which, Happy New Year!  Rudy of Rudy's CJs
