You are bidding on a 1969 Spatz Volkswagen Dune Buggy, which I've been told is one of the premier brands of dune buggies from the '60s and '70s.  It was built in the early '70s using all the best components at that time.  The engine is a 1969 Type III from a VW Squareback and still has the fuel injection on it.  The gauges are all from either a Porsche 912 or Porsche 914.  The seats are from a 1967 Austin Healey BJ8.  The undercarriage is from a 1967 VW Beetle with no rust whatsoever in it, as can be seen in the pictures.  The car also comes with "Buggy Reins", a desirable accessory that apparently allows you to apply a hydraulic hand brake to either rear wheel individually if it gets stuck in the sand so that the other rear wheel can turn and get you free (see pictures).  The tires are also apparently rare, according to dune buggy experts who have commented to me about them.  They are Gates Commando Specials on the rear and Gates Commando XT 70s on the front (see pictures).I don't believe anything has been modified on the car since it was built in the early '70s.  The gold/silver metal flake finish is still in very nice condition.  It has been in storage in a garage for the past 6 or 7 years and has not been started or driven during that time.  The engine does turn over easily but the car will need the usual routine maintenance before it can be driven, like filling the brake fluid reservoir and bleeding the brakes, getting the engine running, etc.
