1968 MG MGB CONVERTIBLEGENERAL/HISTORY:VIN: GHN 4 U 152815 GBODY: Unknown OTHER ID (to right of hood latch hook): G_23 N 009258 Purchased from a party in Clifton Park, NY in August 2002.Used locally for a few summers when not stored undercover, garage or barn.Failed NYS inspection because of frame around 2005. Stored in parents concrete floored barn area since ~15 years. Currently on pavement under tarp.ENGINE/IGNITION: RUNSTag# - 186 F-WE-H 10873 Car runs with a manual feed of fuel (Original fuel pump not working, though included separate with car).
Acts starved of fuel on acceleration attempts (may be unoriginal fuel pump as the cause).Ignition (power system) recently lost power when key is on. This seems to be on-and-off, though better when wire harness below the steering wheel jiggled.Recent backfire incident caused flames in engine bay outside carb, though car has run since. Flames got to an apparent brake line electric wire, which melted some of its coating. Unsure if wire was damaged as I was not able to test brakes in current condition ">
