1953 Pontiac Custom Catalina (Pillarless Hardtop Coupe)
Straight 8 cylinder. Hydramatic Auto Box.
Bare Metal repaint two years ago. with Pearl Paint.
All stainless trim was removed and polished before refitting with all new clips.
Rebuilt Front and Rear suspension with all new bushes as required.
Pertronix Electronic Ignition and Flamethrower Coil
Electric Fuel Pump
New Plugs just fitted.
Recent New battery
Front Sun Visor
Rear Continental Kit with Sun Records logo
Lake Pipes. These are functional and run without baffles. but it's not too loud!
Illuminating Indian Head on bonnet.
The interior is original. but a new headlining may be fitted by you as one seam is split and a hole is in the rear. but it is only original once!
All instruments work. clock works. radio doesn't. However a modern radio/cd/aux output for MP 3 player is installed in the glove box. together with a 12 v power socket.
The boot has been trimmed with Black Tuck n Roll.
A file of bills and receipts from the last 9 years of ownership will be accompanying the car.
It featured in Feb 2013 edition of Classic American magazine. (4 page article)
Currently the car is featured in adverts for Festival of Wheels 2014 in Bournemouth.
The car was on the cover of a CD by Joe Penland. 1953 Pontiac Songs and Stories
The Car is also Featured on the International Pontiac Pickers Calendar for 2014
This is 1 of 4 Pontiac Custom Catalina's in the UK. and they are also very rare in the USA too.
