A historic 1962 sports car. the classic Sunbeam Alpine. An amazing registration of YAS 856. It is powered by a 1592 cc petrol rootes engine and was powerful back in the day. It has twin zenith carbs with gauze pancake filters and a 4 speed gearbox. Rear wheel drive and still has the original wire wheels with hub spinners. This car is in need of a good restoration and unfortunately i don't have the time to give it my full attention. It comes with a factory aluminium hardtop with rear perspex window. it could do with tidying up and respray but still in good condition. Also comes with as new black vinyl soft top that needs the frame glueing to it internally. It looks floppy on the picture as i have already removed the clips that hold it to the rear body. The tonneau covers are also with it. As the pictures show it is in need of a fair bit of welding. the floor needs to be plated over and the rear section of chassis needs to be plated also. Repair sections are needed for the sills. wheel arches. rear valance. front scuttle panel and front wings. Nothing that someone with the time and a welder couldn't do. The edge of the boot lid is rusted and needs replacing or repairing. All the carpet sections are present (new set from Amazon is not much. £100??) and in fair condition. There are original brown leather folding seats that are in good condition but passengers seat could do with a small repair. I had started to strip the car down and have removed the brake and clutch master cylinders and clutch slave cylinder. the radiator and header tank. horns. carbs and manifold. front exhaust section and starter motor. rear drums and hand brake. All carpets have been lifted to assess the state of the floor. The main exhaust section through to the rear is stainless steel. When finished and resprayed. the sunbeam alpine is easily worth £7000 and as these are a relatively undiscovered beauty they can only go up in value in the future. As said it need full restoration but was running 10 years ago. The previous owner had lots of classic cars and one day parked it up and left it. Has been in dry storage all autumn and winter. This car is advertised elsewhere and may be removed. Buyer must collect and trailer away the car. Viewing is highly recommended.
