1974 Dodge Dart 5.2 2 door

Powder Blue with white vinyl top 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger 2 door hardtop with 318 V8 Automatic transmission. This car is road worthy but has not been much in use for the last 15 or so years. It was parked in an underground parking facility up till about 6 years ago where I purchased it from an old friend. It was his daily driver back in the mid 80's through the late 90's, then he occasionally took it to car shows during the next several summers in the Seattle / Everett areas.

Brand new tires were put on it 15 years ago and immediately put in storage where it sat for 15 years. I purchased it and recently have completely done the rear brakes, drums, shoes and hardware with new. I also put a battery, new fuel tank, sending unit, rubber lines, fuel pump, fuels filter and carburetor on it as well as new plugs, cap and rotor. Flushed the radiator and put all new hoses and belts on the motor. It has power steering, 3 speed wiper motor, manual front disc brakes with 10” rear drums. Large bolt pattern 14 x 5 1/2 factory Ralley wheels. Heater works great.

Rear differential was also serviced and is a 2.94 geared 7 1/4 with new rear u-joint and transmission mount. Transmission was serviced before it was parked and has a small leak somewhere around the pan area. It shifts very well, stops very straight and starts and runs well. I put a new carburetor on it this summer and it performs great but the cold start choke may need some minor adjustments as it runs slightly rich on start up sometimes. Engine does not seem to misfire and when it runs it runs good and does not overheat. Carpet and drivers seat is showing normal wear and tear for its age. Drivers sun visor was replaced with a different color. Radio works good. Glass is good and all windows roll up and down. Interior is missing both sides of the blue A pillar plastic mouldings as they cracked with age (common). Door panels are very good. Fuel gauge was working fine before I replaced tank and sending unit but is not currently working at the moment.

This car was under coated early on in its life and therefore has no rust underneath. The vinyl top has dried up some around the edges and would be the next thing to give attention to. It was adult owned from what I understand when new and my friends dad purchased it for him as a first car back in about 1985, he had saved all of the receipts of service work back then and all will be included. Mileage shows 97,395 and is actual mileage as recorded on all the receipts. It has its original engine and transmission. Car also comes with a car cover.

I personally have only driven this car locally and have made it safe to drive this last year. Even though the tires look brand new, they are over 15 years old so I did not want to drive it on the hi way at cruising speed due to their age. I would love to keep this car and take it to the next level with a little more restoration, but need to sell as I need to finish up on a couple more pending projects. If your looking for a nice weekend driver / project this may be for you! It really is a solid car with lots of potential. It always got lots of nice comments when it was taken to the shows.
