1993 Mercedes 320CE Coupe SportlineThis car has been a labour of love for the past year but now needs a new home. As above, it's a 1993 model which is the cross over year meaning it's a pre-facelift model with the M104 3.2 facelift engine and it is called a 320ce this was only made for one year and is considered the most desirable model by many. It has been sympathetically yet thoroughly restored and is ready to use for years to come. The millage is on 126,000 and will continue to rise. Let's start with the body. The whole car has been professionally repainted in the best colour- Nautical Blue, it is in immaculate condition with no rust at all. The front bumper, rear bumper and spoiler are all genuine Carat Duchatelet and believed to be factory fitted.  The wheels in the pictures are genuine RH ZW1 Cup split rims. The Goodyear Eagle F1s have less than 300 miles on them. These wheels can be bought separately and are an extra £1,000. The car will be on the standard 15" 8 hole wheels otherwise, which have been recently refurbed and the GoodYear EfficientGrip tyres have less than 200miles on them. The private plate is included in the sale. When I purchased the car it was in great original condition and drove well, but I couldn't resist restoring it and bringing it back to its former glory. The restoration included:The underside being completely stripped, the surface rust removed, epoxy primed and undersealed.The front Sportline callipers have been vapour blasted, painted and rebuilt using new pistons and seals. The pads on the front are ATE Ceramic RedStuff to reduce brake dust and increase performance they are paired with Febi coated disks. The rear callipers have been replaced and have ATE ceramic pads again paired with Febi Coated disks. The brake hoses all around are new and the rear brake lines that run on the rear subframe have been replaced. The suspension was all stripped off the car including the rear subframe, driveshafts, differential and Sportline sway bars. The rear subframe, sway bars and rear lower arms were vapour blasted then powder coated. The front brakes, front hubs, rear hubs and driveshafts were vapour blasted then epoxy primed and painted. With everything freshly painted and powder coated it was time to rebuild it all using new parts; H&R lowering springs, Koni shocks, suspension spring cups, top mounts, rebuilt front callipers, new rear callipers, new dust shields, brake hoses, handbrake cable, disks, pads, handbrake shoes, subframe mounts, swaybar bushings, rear control arms, front and rear hub bearings, steering arms, steering damper, driveshaft donuts and all the hardware. (The H&R springs were added slightly later hence not in the pictures)The power steering fluid has been flushed through and the filter has been changed.

As you are probably aware this is the M104 engine so it suffers from the biodegradable wiring harness this has been replaced with a genuine Febi one and the throttle body has also been rewired.

The engine runs perfectly and benefits from the following;

New coolant hoses, new radiator, new reservoir, new water pump, cooling fan clutch

Full service using Genuine Mercedes 10-40 oil, Mercedes oil filter, Mercedes spark plugs, 3 new coils and sleeves, Gearbox filter and seal, fresh ATX fluid.

Both the fuel pumps were replaced along with the filter

New Exhaust

New battery

New alternator

Auxiliary Belt

Rocker cover gasket

Bosch O2 sensor

The interior is original and well cared for- there is some slight wear to the drivers seat bolster and some of the lacquer over the wood is cracked. The front plastic seatbelt covers have slightly come away from the leather. The speakers have been upgraded throughout with extra speakers in the door cards (which I had planned to cover in perforated leather) and an under-seat subwoofer. The head-unit is an Alpine IVA which flips out to reveal a digital display with a wooden backdrop.

All the electrics work inside the car including seatbelt butlers, heated wing mirrors, electric drivers seat, adjustable wing mirrors, all windows etc.

The car has many optional extras including heated seats, air conditioning, electric drivers seat, illuminated vanity mirrors, cruise control (not working), Sportline, Carat Duchatelet body kit.

I fitted the OBA wooden wheel along with the wooden shifter and I accept its not to everyones taste so the car will be sold with the originals.

To make the car perfect I would replace the windscreen (I've already replaced the rear) as they delaminate overtime. I would also spend a bit of time sorting the interior trim and possibly have the centre console lacquered. The car hasn't been flattened and polished yet but this should be done before the sale. The throttle is also a bit stiff and could do with the cable replaced. Annoyingly I don't have the towing eye cover for the Carat Duchatelet front bumper.

I have lots of service history and paperwork for the car including the original brochure and service booklet.

The car will be sold with 12 months MOT.
