EX ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.1979 LEYLAND SHERPA 1,700 CC FIRE TENDERREGISTRATION NO. CRN 193 VCHASSIS NO. SAZ 2 HSLT 18 N 132250 This Leyland Sherpa Fire Tender was constructed by Bridge Coachworks Ltd. of Ealing, West London and entered service with Rolls-Royce in the Midlands, its operations being restricted to movements off the public highway. The vehicle came out of service in April 2010 and at that time the odometer reading was just 7,475 miles. Entering preservation, the vehicle was restored by a well-known historic commercial vehicle restorer, work carried out including fitting of new brakes, new starter motor and new tyres as well as re-liverying in fire engine red. In May 2010 the vehicle was registered for road use and allocated the registration mark CRN 193 V. the mileage now is only 11000.. The vehicle is equipped with escape ladder and water pump which is in working order. Further equipment includes two spare wheels, hoses and hats. CRN 193 V would be suitable for going back into service, serving its original application, or indeed is eligible for events organised by the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society, the various fire engine clubs or indeed will be a very welcome entry (and admission pass) for traction engine and other historic vehicle rally display fields. Condition is very good and this is a manageable size historic commercial vehicle.
