1978 Mercedes 300Dengine runs good and drives fine , on full acceleration does blow some smoke, may require tune and fuel flush as the car was sitting for over 10 years Auto shifts good, was a driving vehicle then sat in storage since 2011 approx.Has 549,212kms on board , but previous owner said the engine and trans was rebuilt at 471,000 and documented in service manual, comes with all books etc, there was a heap of receipts but original owner couldn't locate them and although he stated all the suspension etc was done when he drove it, its all based on his word. However it does drive fine and seems to be all in good working order. No Engine or Tranmissions leaks from what I can see. I have rebuilt the brake system with recond calipers, new master cylinder and new brake hoses. engine has had basic oil change and cooling hoses replaced, next on the list was to get a specialist to tune it and to flush the fuel system. Has Air Con will need re-gassing and Power Steering works fine. Body is straight and pretty well rust free, there are some spots which have some bubbling but nothing serious, only area i saw was under the boot seal a little bit there which requires attention ... paint work has crazed and although still looks fine from a few feet away it would require a full paint job to get it looking mint. Interior is in great condition and from what I can tell everything works. Moving this fantastic car, as I dont have the time or money to continue to finish it.
