Ready for a new home is our baby. a Red 1960 MGA Roadster. My wife. who is English always wanted one. and named him Stuart. However. due to numerous back and hip surgeries. she is unable to drive it. so we are looking for him to go to a new home.

We purchased Stuart about 3 years ago from a well known British sports car dealership. The car was originally a rust-free California car (the previous title is from Orange County Ca. ) that was sent to their restoration shop. All mechanicals done - too numerous to mention. at a cost of about $8000 (have receipts). The owner was unable. to complete the planned full restoration. We then purchased the car totally mechanically restored. but needing cosmetics. We had an independant shop perform a complete inspection on the car and it was found to be totally sound. All mechanicals were great. no engine noises. no smoking. no leaking. no rust. good compression. all else excellent.

At the restoration shop we had the transmission rebuilt using the modified steel second gear and syncro set because the second gear on these cars is typicially a problem - the brass syncro will wear out quickly causing the trans to grind in second gear. Now it is like no other and shifts as it was intended. Warning to all prospective MGA purchasers out there - make sure the trans has been rebuilt. and hopefully with the steel syncro. We found most sellers tried to claim that the grinding is normal and you must double clutch to get second gear - Not true!

The car received a lenghty complete cosmetic restoration. including installing new floor boards. carpet. seats. door panels. top. etc. The body was taken apart and painted. using a high quality paint. then put back together. All the rubber and the majority of trim was replaced.  Carbs just rebuilt and head redone to accept unleaded gas. Beautifully detailed engine compartment and undercarriage.    It is a turn key car that runs and looks like new. It has been driven about 100 miles since completion.  All receipts in a binder with the clear title. A pair of used side curtains come with the car.  Inspections welcome but must be done before pickup.  Buyer pays shipping. Bid with confidence.  We reserve the right to end the auction any time as we are advertising it elsewhere.  Thanks for lookin
