This 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was purchased new

January 1978

at Somerset Pontiac/GMC in Troy, Michigan. Its was repainted sometime in the 80 s Gold from its original Starlight Black. It was his daily driver and over time became tired and run down. He gave it to his Son and his Fiancé in California in 1994 with there plan of restoring it. It sat untouched in there yard until 1998 when it was purchased by its present owner who brought the T.A. to Arizona. It sat in his yard until early last year when he started working on it. The motor was sent out and rebuilt. The Trans and Rear End were

serviced

and

gone through. Radiator was rebuilt. All the sub frame and body bushings have been replaced with poly graphite. Unfortunately he passed away and couldn't finish the car. I'm selling it for his Daughter.

(Vehicle Condition) This Trans Am needs someone to take it to the next level and finish the restoration. The motor and transmission runs and performs well. The Brakes and Rear End also run and Perform well! This car has never been in an accident. It does have some rust and bubbling in the paint on the hood edge, lower rear quarter panels and lower edge of the rear window. The rest of the car, floor pan, fire wall, trunk, frame, ect.. are Nice and Solid. Trunk,

Doors

and hood all open and close smoothly. It has the original windshield in it with the selling dealer decal in the left corner but it has a crack. The rest of the window glass is Nice, no cracks or breaks. The paint is shot and there's dents and dings. T he interior is original except for the vintage after market stereo and speakers. It n eeds a restoration to be perfect.

The dash is nice with only 1 crack. All the gauges work including the clock except the oil presser. The door panels are missing.

Overall the car is nice and complete.

All parts needed to finish the restoration are available through restoration parts suppliers. There is a couple boxes of parts that I need to pick up that will go with the car.
