SELLER REMARKS
The case can be made that the 79-81 Trans Ams were the coolest versions of Pontiac's pony car. The sleek lines of the second-generation body had matured. a new aerodynamic beak was up front. and all of the proper spoilers. wings and graphics were still in place. WS 7 cars like this had deep dish "snowflake" wheels that filled the wells perfectly. and shaker hoods were still the norm. With authentic factory looks. this well-preserved and loaded four speed 'Bird is ready to nest in your collection.
If you've been looking for a Trans Am. we're happy to report this car looks much better than most. The paint appears to have been restored a few years ago. along with correct factory decals. and the work was done to a high standard.
Lines are sharp. gaps are good and they were clearly working from a very solid piece to begin with.
The gray and red graphics are cool to see. and they make this car look like a "baby" 10 th anniversary car. T-Tops make everything better. and the new-for-1979 spoilers and bumpers look great on this car. giving it a real racer look. The blacked-out taillights. also new for '79. are in great shape and were an excellent styling choice for the car. From any angle. this is a tough looking car that presents itself very. very well.
The interior of this car is a great place to spend some time.
Extensively restored last year. you'll find new factory-inspired seat covers. new carpet. and new or refurbished pieces throughout the rest of interior. That Formula wheel feels great in your hands. and you'll thank yourself every time you drive the car that you bought one with the close ratio four speed transmission. The "engine turned" dash panel is excellent. and the gauges are crisp. There's an awful lot of black in here with little ornamentation. this was a place of business. The word "loaded" gets thrown around a lot. but this car's got almost everything: air conditioning. power windows. remote trunk release. delay wipers. rear defroster. Formula steering wheel. tilt wheel. aluminum wheels (you could still get Rally II's in '79. WS 7 handling package. radio noise suppression package and a power antenna. Those last two are the strangest. this car was ordered without a radio! The trunk is neatly finished. too. including a space-saver spare and what appears to be the original mat.
Open the hood and find a well preserved 301 cubic inch Pontiac V 8. If you wanted to save some weight over the front wheels and keep your Pontiac ALL Pontiac. you got this engine with a $195 credit in lieu of the Oldsmobile 403 that came in the bulk of 'Birds that year. You're not exactly going to reel in GT-R's with it. but there was more than enough power to keep most of Trans Am's competitors at bay. Preservation rather than restoration is the name of the game here. with few changes from stock to be found. We spy a new power brake booster and master cylinder. a new alternator. and new tune up parts. A look at the chassis reveals the same line of thinking. A new power steering pressure hose. new calipers. a new sway bar end link. only what the car needs to keep going while maintaining its survivor status. The big WS 7 suspension package is in place. and the 225/70 R 15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A's on the 15 x 8 snowflakes are truly where the rubber meets the road.
If you're looking for a really well-preserved. nicely detailed Trans Am. this is the one you're looking for. Stick shift. great looking and well optioned. this car will provide years of enjoyment. Call today!
