Vehicle Details
This is a 1972 BMW 2002 that I have owned since 2008. My dad and I started a complete restoration around 2010. Over the last 10 years, the car has been stripped down, repainted, bumpers re chromed, new door seals, new gas tank, new exterior trim, new carpet, new door cards, reupholstered seats with genuine leather, new dash cover. Many other new parts / hardware were installed by 2002 AD to help us finish the car. The previous owner did an engine rebuild and a 5 speed transmission swap. The car has been rarely driven during our ownership and mostly sits in the garage. Sunroof is fully functional. All rust was removed before the repaint. Rear shock towers are solid and free of rust. The undercarriage was also protected with a spray during the repaint. Car comes with 320 i wheels, which came with the car when we purchased it. The doors do not currently lock, but the trunk does lock. Car turns over after a few pumps of the throttle and drives smooth. Engine will rev out without any issues. Transmission shifts without grinding or popping out in any gear. Suspension feels adequate, but needs a wheel alignment. Typical old car / gasoline smell is present, both while driving and while parked. The heater box was deleted during the rebuild to simplify the interior. We still have the original unit available with the sale. Other spare parts will also be included with the sale.
